The Research Of Wenming In Han Dynasty

In the Han dynasty,Wenming was a kind of box that covers up dead man's head.Wenming is in the coffin.The main body is dominated by wood.The shape almost is a square box.The most shape is lu top.It is composed of left panel,right panel,back panel,top panel and bottom panel.Some have no bottom panel.Some of the top panels extend forward to above the chest.There is a horseshoe notch under the left panel and right panel in some Wenming.There is a hole in the back panel of some Wenming.Some stick on mirrors in the left pane,right panel,back panel and top panel.Some are Embedded with some jades,glasses,pottery pieces and other ornaments.Some are plain inside and outside.Some are painted in outside.Generally decorated with birds and animals grain,yunqi grain,dragon and tiger grain,feather and other decorative patterns.In the Han dynasty,the earliest record of Wenming is the record of the east garden Wenming,which was given to huo guang by emperor xuandi of Han dynasty.At present,the archaeological excavation of the Wenming period are Han dynasty,the earliest is in the Han emperor xuandi period.In the Han dynasty,there was a hierarchy of Wenming users.At present,archaeological excavations unearthed Wenming can be divided into two types,decorative aspects are also different.According to the analysis,Wenming declined at the end of the western Han dynasty.The Wenming has a deep origin with the overlying surface.In the Han dynasty,the connotation of Wenming can be summed up as warm and nourishing the soul,exorcism and blessing,the pursuit of eternal life,flying to fairyland.
