The Study Of Minimalism In Graphic Design

Minimalist graphic design works have been constantly emerging since the 1990 s,with its unique artistic charm,it has attracted more and more attention.Minimalist graphic design conforms to the current development trend of design,and thus becomes one of the mainstream styles of contemporary graphic design.At the same time,under the current fast pace and high pressure of work and life,people are eager to have a quiet,plain and simple living and working space.The integration of minimalist art style enhances the practicability and functionality of graphic design to a certain extent,reduces unnecessary decoration,and conveys the information of design works to people more conveniently and efficiently,thus satisfying people’s life and work needs well,and relieving people’s visual fatigue and mental pressure to a certain extent.The thesis aims to study and analyze the overall development of minimalist graphic design by selecting many representative excellent works at home and abroad,so that people can understand their application value and practical role,accept and like them,thus to promote the development and innovation of graphic design to a certain extent.Besides that,the paper takes minimalism in graphic design as the research object,analyzes the application of minimalism in graphic design,its visual effects,ideological connotations and development prospects by means of literature research method,comparative research method,case study and field investigation method.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction of this paper,mainly for the later in-depth study.The second chapter is the specific discussion of minimalist graphic design,including its related concept definitions and development,it also discusses its practical application of minimalist logo design,poster design,packaging design and UI design.The third chapter focuses on the minimalism design style and its visual effect,creates the popular design works by considering the audience’s psychology.The fourth chapter takes the ideological connotation of minimalist graphic design as the core,analyzes it from the spiritual level and the aesthetic level,thus manifests the designer’s design concept and way of thinking.The fifth chapter shows the development prospects of minimalist graphic design,letting people understand the value and function of minimalist graphic design.Through the data collection and case analysis,we can draw the following conclusions: minimalist graphic design is a practical and functional design,which takes satisfying people’s practical needs as the starting point and end point of its design.It is a unity of modernity and tradition,art and science,form and connotation,nationality and globality,and is the crystallization of human wisdom.Therefore,the form of minimalist artistic expression not only meets people’s practical needs,but also inspires designers’ design inspiration to a certain extent,which has certain theoretical and practical significance for the development of graphic design.
