Research On The "Shengtai" As The Category Of Chinese Literary And Art Criticism

The word "Shengtai" has been recorded in writing as early as the Tang Dynasty.It has a long history and rich connotations,contains profound cultural and aesthetic values,and carries the wisdom and spiritual pursuit of the ancients.However,the existing research focuses on the study of the source flow and the use of the modern meaning of the word"Shengtai",and the study of the meanings of the "Shengtai" in Chinese traditional culture is slightly inadequate in terms of depth or breadth,and the explanation of the meanings of "Shengtai" is still blank from the level of literary criticism.On the basis of clarifying the general meanings,the connotations of category and the evolution of the word"Shengtai" in the ancient Chinese classics,this paper tries to explain the aesthetic characteristics and the ideological and cultural basis of the category "Shengtai",and constructs its aesthetic community,places it in the system of categories with "Sheng" as its core,shows its particularity in the system of categories of ancient Chinese literary criticism,and then,reveals the status and value of the category"Shengtai" in the ancient Chinese literary and artistic activities,explores the modern significance of the category "Shengtai" from the perspective of the ecological aesthetics.So that,we can promote the development of the Chinese native aesthetic system of categories,provide theoretical resources for contemporary literary criticism and creation,and provide new perspectives and materials for the study of contemporary ecological aesthetics.The content of the first chapter is the meanings of the word "Shengtai".In this part,the general meanings,the connotations of category and the evolution of the word "Shengtai" in ancient Chinese classics are expounded.At present,there are three main interpretations of the word "Shengtai"in Chinese traditional culture:showing good posture,vivid modality,and biological characteristics and habits of the living beings.On the basis of the three explanations commonly used in the academic circle,this paper analyzes the meanings of the word "Shengtai" in specific sentences one by one,and supplements the basic meanings of "Shengtai" in the ancient Chinese classics to eleven kinds.On this basis,through analyzing these eleven terms,this paper summarizes the connotations of "Shengtai" as follows:vivid modality,living,showing good posture.This paper also uses the historical and logical methods to comb the evolution of the key element and the aesthetic dimension of the category "Shengtai".In this paper the author finds out that the category "Shengtai" has experienced a change in aesthetic from "form" to "spirit" and from concrete to abstract in the long process of development and evolution.The second chapter mainly introduces the aesthetic inclination.This chapter analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of the category "Shengtai"and establishes its legitimacy as a category of literary criticism.According to the logic from the outside to the inside,this paper sums up the aesthetic characteristics of the category "Shengtai".This paper holds that the aesthetic characteristics of the category "Shengtai" can be summarized into three levels."Spirit-resonance" is the aesthetic effect pursued by the category "Shengtai","The blend of mind and matter"is the requirement of the category "Shengtai" on the relationship between subject and object,and "Circle of life" is the most fundamental spiritual core of the category "Shengtai".They supplement and interact with each other,constitute the aesthetic characteristics of the category"Shengtai".The third chapter mainly introduces the ideological basis.According to the philosophy of life,this paper explores the ideological and cultural roots of the category "Shengtai" from three aspects:the macrocosm value,the conception of equality and the aesthetic standard,and excavates the inner spirit conveyed by the category "Shengtai".Under the influence of the philosophy of life,the category "Shengtai" absorbs the nutrition of the unity of heaven and man,the animism,and the emphasis on the romantic charm,and forms the ideological basis based on the spirit of life,which is not only the philosophical foundation of the aesthetic characteristics of "Shengtai",but also reflects the wisdom and spiritual pursuit of the ancients in our country.The fourth chapter is the introduction of the aesthetic community of the category "Shengtai".The author sorts out the community of the category "Shengtai" and analyzes the category "Shengtai" roundly.Based on the pertinence and serialization of the categories of ancient Chinese literary and artistic criticism,the author analyzes the category"Shengtai" roundly,and chooses two representative categories,"Shengqi"and "Shengyi",for case study,and compares these two categories with the category "Shengtai"."Shengtai" and "Shengqi","Shengyi","Shengyun","Shengqu" and so on are in the system with "Sheng" as the core,not only have the similarity in external form,but also have a positive emotional tendency.They all pursue the spirit of "Sheng".The particularity of the category "Shengtai" lies in its attention to abstract things such as"meaning" and "emotion",and it does not neglect the pursuit of"modality".The fifth chapter is about the value of the category "Shengtai".Based on the previous four parts of the discussion,the author analyzes the value of "Shengtai".The author reveals the status and value of the category"Shengtai" in the activities of ancient Chinese literature and art,to promote the development and perfection of the system of categories.At the same time,using the knowledge of the ecological aesthetics,the autnor ponaers the moaern meaning of the category Shengtai.Shengtai has profoundly influenced the creative practice and criticism standards of various literary and artistic categories in ancient times,and presents the basic information of Chinese traditional thought and culture and the spiritual pursuit of the ancient people,which is an indispensable part of the system with "Sheng" as its core and has great historical significance.The emphasis on "life",the affirmation of the value of nature,the concept of equality between man and nature which are reflected in the category "Shengtai" provide inspiration to the current literary criticism and creation,as well as the treatment of the relationship between man and nature.In short,the category "Shengtai" takes the spirit of life as its essence,benefits a lot from the unity of heaven and man,the animism,and the emphasis on the romantic charm,and presents such aesthetic personalities as the spirit-resonance,the blend of mind and matter,the circle of life.The category "Shengtai" occupies a unique position in the traditional system of categories.In the meantime,it has an important influence on the literary and artistic activities of the ancients.The ecological aesthetic implication of this category provides enlightening significance to the contemporary cultural activities as well as the healthy development of ecological environment.
