Art Research On Female Consciousness In Shunji Iwai's Films

In 1896,"Kinetoscope" was introduced to Japan,an oriental island nation close to China,which embarked on a long journey of film exploration.Throughout the history of Japanese film development,after several ups and downs,it finally ushered in new development opportunities in the 1990s.During this period,a group of cutting-edge directors who focused on personal styles stood out and made a large-scale innovation of traditional Japanese movies with a new concept of film creation,which caused the "new film movement" in Japanese society.Shunji Iwai,one of the leaders,attracted much attention.As a male director,he concentrated on the world around him with a keen and unique perspective.His works shaped women with different personalities;he brought real-life stories to the screen,depicting the living conditions of women at that time with his unique brushstrokes;his video world is intricate,showing deep concern for women.And finally he became one of the best male directors in Japan to express women.As of the author's deadline,there are only a handful of dissertations on the analysis of Shunji Iwai's films from the perspective of female consciousness.Starting from the feminist movement and relative films,and then discusses the issue of feminist awareness in feminist films,this paper puts forward the definition of "feminine consciousness in film" based on the viewpoints of all the theoretical basis for the detailed discussion of this paper.At the same time,it compares the female consciousness contained in Japanese movies in different periods with that in Shunji Iwai's films to find the similarities and shows the factual basis for studying "female consciousness in Shunji Iwai's films".Based on the theoretical basis and factual analysis,this paper will study the female consciousness in Shunji Iwai's films in the following three aspects.The first of the study is to analyze the diversity of women's consciousness in Shunji Iwai's films in a comprehensive,multi-angled and systematic way by analyzing the female consciousness of subject,growth,redemption and self-review.With female consciousness as the starting point,the second based on Shunji Iwai's films,is deeply discussing how to use different narrative methods to construct female consciousness and further exploring the artistic thinking of the director from four perspectives:narrative imagery,narrative perspective,narrative structure and narrative sound.Finally,by studying the image value and social significance of the construction of female consciousness in Shunji Iwai's films,rethink the female consciousness reflected in the film works.In general,this article uses a combination of theory and examples to study the expression and significance of women's consciousness in Shunji Iwai's films from various aspects,so as to discuss the theme of Shunji Iwai's creation.In the postmodern Japanese society,the sense of wandering and fragmentation of women's life directly highlights the care of women in Shunji Iwai's films,and explores the artistic charm of his films in a deeper way.
