| As a new narrative medium,the video game has its own development process.Compared with the traditional narrative form,video game narrative,as a new narrative form,also has its own characteristics.The thesis studies the video game narrative under the post-modern context,the internal and external characteristics of the video game narrative text,and analyzes the aesthetics meaning of the video game narrative.The introductory part of the thesis firstly reviews the research results of domestic and foreign scholars on video games.And then,it defines the concept of video games and the concept of video game narratives on the basis of reviewing the different theories on the concept of video games for research purposes.In Chapter One,the thesis provides an overview of traditional game theory as a background for video game research.It analyzes the changes in the ability of video game narratives at various stages of video game audiovisual development in the process of video game industry development.On this basis the thesis divides the video game narratives into video game interactive narratives,video game setting narratives and Video game player behavior narrative.In Chapter Two,the thesis investigates the narrative features within the video game text,starting from the postmodern theory.Firstly,the thesis analyzes the experience of cyberspace in video games using postmodern concepts such as Baudrillard’s "simulation"and "hyper-reality".The thesis analyzes the "non-linear narrative" of video game narratives,and the "hypertext" net-like narrative characteristics of video game texts.Finally,the paper analyzes the various intertextual performances related to video games from the perspective of "intertextuality".In Chapter Three,the thesis examines the characteristics of narratives outside the text of video games,such as the narrative behaviour of video game players,video games’IP-linked narratives,and cross-media adaptation narratives of video games.These narratives all embody the fragmented,symbolic and uncentered narratives of postmodern narratives.The video game texts are deconstructed with the participation of multiple subjects,and the narratives show the characteristics of postmodern narratives such as centerlessness and flatness.In Chapter Four,the thesis focuses on the study of video game narratives from an aesthetic perspective.The video game as an emerging narrative form generates a comparable space between traditional narrative forms,and there are more Subcultural Component.The thesis analyzes video game narratives with player participation in a comparison of similarities and differences as process narratives with a spiritual experience,in which the spiritual experience Players exhibit the aesthetic psychology of "stillness" and"immersion".The concluding part of the thesis summarizes the narrative features of video games,analyzes the possibilities presented by video game narratives,and the narrative responsibilities that video game narratives should assume. |
