During the one thousand years from the Zhou Dynasty to the Han Dynasty,the concise Chunqiu,Qinji and the detailed Zhuji of the Han Dynasty were the mainstream of the development of chronicle historiography.These works are compiled at any time without unified style,which can be described as notes historiography.The style of Zuozhuan is mixed,and the scale of the chronology has not been established.At first,scholars attached great importance to it based on the purpose of interpreting the classics.Based on the study of chronicle historiography of the Han Dynasty,this paper discusses the development vein and historical status of historiography of annalistic Style in Han Dynasty through comprehensive understanding of the political and social features of Han Dynasty.The first chapter discusses the reform of the system of history compilation and therise and decline of annotation in the Han Dynasty.The reformation of the system of history compilation during the Han Dynasty promoted the prosperity of historiography.Taishiling was the astronomical officer and the court historiographer,who in charge of both history and astronomy.Between the West and East Han Dynasties,the flourishing of the proofreading activities facilitated the transfer of the historian group.Liu Xiang and others provided the experience of the writing through compiling the national historical records.Emperor Mingdi ordered Ban Gu and other scholars to rule the historical affairs,making the shiji style history compilation by Liu xiang and others.The court changed the system of historical officials and the writing style of national history.This promoted the improvement of history compilation and the development of historiography.However,intermittent compilation also led to the abolition of the annotations.The tradition of annotating chronicles did not continue until the servants of Emperor Xian wrote Xiandiqijuzhu.The second chapter explains the Emperors’ biography writing and thetransformation of Chunqiu writing method.Sima Qian followed the righteous example of Chunqiu to write Shiji,in which the narrative is based on emperor-centered narratives,and its text is "broken due to events",which is informal.The twelve biographies of the Emperor is a chronicle of the history of the ancient and modern dynasties based on the clues of the emperor.In the compilation,the method of Chunqiu writing is emphasized.However,the style of the twelve biographies inherited the spirit of Sima Qian’s factual record.Ban Gu absorbed the advantages of the chronicles written by Sima Qian and Chunqiu,which made the styles of the imperial annals established by Ban Gu become the standard for later scholars to create biographical history books.The Development of the Early New Historiography of Annalistic Style in Han Dynasty.During the period of Later Han Dynasty,our country has produced some new chronological history books due to the old text confucianism rose and gradually,scholars’consciousness of periodical division became clear.Xun Yue absorbed the advantages of the biographical history book,compiled the Han Dynasty according to the style of Chunqiu,completing the historiography process of chronology.The book adopts a narrative style that is based on the interpretation of history and comparison,and shows the social face and historical process of the Han Dynasty in many aspects.The introduction of political theory into historical records deepens the connection between history and politics.After the writing practice of scholars in the Western Jin Dynasty,the historical system pioneered by Hanji finally became the mainstream of chronicle-writing.
