This study consists of two parts. The first part included two experiments aime d to investigate ADHD children’s attentional bias to different types of text illustrati ons.The second part included two experiments aimed to investigate the interference effects of different types of illustrations on ADHD children’s directed attention and semantic coding. The results show that:1)Illustrations with different levels of elements produced different attentional b ias between ADHD and control group. When the constituent elements are level 1,1 evel 2 and level 3,the attention bias level of ADHD group is lower than that of normal group. When the constituent elements reach level 4,there is no difference b etween the two groups.2)The magnitude of attention bias towards large size pictures is larger than th at of small size pictures. For the ADHD group, the attention bias towards large-sca le pictures was higher than that of small-scale pictures at Level 3 and 4,and the a ttention biases towards large-scale pictures and small-scale pictures were not signific ant at level 1 and 2;for the normal group, the attention biases towards large-scale pictures and small-scale pictures were not significant at level 1,level 2 and level 4,but the attention bias towards large-scale pictures was larger than that of small-sca le pictures at Level 3。3)The higher the level of illustrations, the greater the interference effect is on Chinese character directional attention.Among them, the interference effect of illus trations on the attention orientation of Chinese characters in ADHD group was grea ter.Specifically, there is a significant difference in the interference effect of the lev el of illustrations on ADHD children. The higher the level, the greater the interfere nce effect is.When the normal group is in level 1,the interference control is bette r,and the interference effect of level 2,level 3 and level 4 is the same, and is gr eater than level 1.4)The interference effect of picture size on the Chinese character directional a ttention of ADHD participants is significant. The larger the size is,the greater the interference effect is.However, this size effect is not found in the normal subjects.5)Illustration images have a greater interference effect on the semantic coding of ADHD children, especially when the semantics of pictures and words conflict with each other.6)For the normal group, the accuracy of text above the picture is significantly higher than that of text below the picture, that is to say, text has a greater interfe rence effect under the picture. However, for ADHD group, there was no significant difference in the interference effect of different positions. To sum up,the conclusions of this study are as follows:1)the more the com ponents of illustrations, the greater the attention bias effect of ADHD;2)the larger the size of illustrations, the greater the attention bias effect of ADHD;3)the larg er the level of illustrations, the lower the anti-interference ability of ADHD;4)wh en the illustrations are inconsistent with the text, the interference effect of ADHD i s stronger;5)In ADHD group, there was no significant difference in the condition that text appeared below the picture and text appeared above the picture.
