A Brief Analysis Of Lefebvre’s Critical Theory Of Everyday Life

Lefebvre spent his life studying and exploring the critical theory of everyday life,and the three volumes of Criticism of Everyday Life are the collection of his critical theory of everyday life.Based on the study of these three volumes,this paper explores the theoretical origin and formation background of his critical theory of everyday life,clarifies the general context of his critical theory of everyday life,and probes into the theoretical value and contemporary significance of his critical theory of everyday life.The direction of lefebvre’s critical theory of everyday life is to study and criticize the phenomenon of total alienation of everyday life in capitalist society.The theory of total alienation is mainly embodied in the alienation of people’s ideological consciousness,the alienation of people’s needs and the alienation of the relationship between people and the social collective.This paper first explores Hegel’s theory of alienation and dialectics,Marx’s theory of alienation and total dialectics,Nietzsche’s thought of right will and superman,and surrealism’s great foundation for the formation of lefebvre’s critical theory of everyday life.Analysis of the rise of fascism,the rapid development of capitalism brought about by the control of consumption of the invisible social oppression of people,as well as the criticism of Stalin’s dogmatism for the formation of his theory played a foundation-driving role.Then this paper divides lefebvre’s critical theory of everyday life into two periods.In the early stage,he first discusses how he criticizes the traditional philosophy and even ignores the common phenomenon in the field of everyday life.Secondly,it discusses how he demonstrates the rationality of his criticism of "every life",which is also the premise of his critical theory.Then study his criticism of the capitalist ideological mystification,this is the key to its critical theory,ideological mystification is the normal means of capitalist rule,throughout his whole critical theory,the early main largely consistent with Marx’s thought,he was aimed at economic production in the field of ideological mystification.In the later stage,he turned to criticize the consumer society,mainly focusing on his profound criticism of the invisible oppression of people in the new capitalist society,and his interpretation of the state of people who are numb in the consumer society.At the same time,he summarized the characteristics of the disappearance of social style,the disappearance ofreference and the social zero.Finally,it explains how he eliminated all the alienation in everyday life through the general cultural revolution,including the body revolution,the space revolution and the revival of festivals,so as to realize the complete liberation of human beings and the restoration of the real everyday life,make everyday life become a work of art.Through the study of lefebvre’s critical theory of everyday life,this paper reveals the intrinsic value and practical significance of his theory,analyzes the shortcomings of his theory,absorbs the essence of his theory,and makes a contribution to China’s modernization.
