Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin(1810--1849),a composer of great significance in the early 19 th century,focused his life on the creation of piano music,covering more than 200 works in more than 10 genres,including etudes,sonatas,scherzo,fantasia,waltz,improvisation,polonaise and polonaise.Among the various genres,only nocturne is the most representative of Chopin's reputation as a piano poet.In his short career of39 years,the creation of nocturne runs through his life,leaving 21 world-renowned works to the world,and becoming the leading figure of nocturne in this genre,the number of creations has never been surpassed.In "21 nocturne(op.9--op.72)",a large number of 19th-century semitone harmony vocabulary emerges,and semitone harmony techniques are highly integrated with music colors,expressing the different mood of the author in different creation periods,which is of great value for research and study.This paper is divided into four chapters: the first chapter is the introduction,which discusses the purpose and significance of this topic,domestic and foreign research review,domestic and foreign research status analysis,as well as the innovation of this topic and the expected creative results.The second chapter,Chopin and his nocturne,gives a brief overview of Chopin's life and creation,the development history of nocturne,Chopin's development of nocturne and the stages of Chopin's creation.Chapter three is the technique of inflection in Chopin's nocturne.The inflection in “21nocturne(op.9--op.72)” is divided into two categories: off-key chords with relative inflection and variable chords with absolute inflection.In chapter 4,the techniques of mode alternation and decorative semitones,the author makes an in-depth analysis of the usage of the major and minor alternation of the same tonic and the extended special mode alternation and the parallel major and minor alternation chords in “21 nocturns(op.9--op.72)”.After the comparison of several editions,this paper takes the score of Chopin nocturne published by Shanghai education publishing house in June 2010 as the main research center.The score of this edition is the most accurate and annotated.In the process of research,the harmony in “21 nocturne(op.9--op.72)”was analyzed one by one,and the semitone harmony technique was the focus of the research.In combinationwith other creative features such as musical structure,tonal layout and development techniques,the artistic features of “21 nocturne(op.9--op.72)” are comprehended from many aspects,as well as the highlights of semitone harmony techniques.
