"Having no depraved thoughts",which was used by Confucius to sum up the Book of Poetry, has attracted the attention of scholars of all ages." Having no depraved thoughts " also derived multiple connotations in the process of dispute. This paper tries to explore the poetical thoughts and significance of " Having no depraved thoughts " from the explanation of "thinking without evil" in the past dynasties. This paper will be divided into three parts to explore the "Having no depraved thoughts":1.The interpretive mode of "Having no depraved thoughts" in han and tang dynasties. In the process of classicization, the political and moral significance of the Book of Poetry is constantly strengthened,The interpretation of " Having no depraved thoughts " in the han and tang dynasties can be summarized as "the correctness of poets’ thoughts and poetic thoughts"."The correctness of poets’ thoughts and poems’ thoughts" requires that the ideological content of poetry works and the poet’s emotional intention should not violate the correct value and serve the political and religious ethics. This kind of poetics concept originates from the understanding of lyrical nature and practical function of poetry.2.The interpretive mode of "Having no depraved thoughts " in song dynasty.Zhu xi disintegrates the definition of "thinking innocently" of "the correctness of poets’ thoughts and poetic thoughts" and puts forward his own new theory: "reading the Book of Poetry makes people think innocently".The influence of zhu xi’s theory is enough to be named " The interpretive mode of ‘Having no depraved thoughts’ " in song dynasty " and juxtaposed with " The interpretive mode of ‘Having no depraved thoughts’ in han and tang dynasties ".The comparison between zhu xi’s model and the han and tang models is helpful to better grasp the specific connotation and changing context of " Having no depraved thoughts ".The theory of "Sincere poetic thought " appeared in the song dynasty and was formed in the qing dynasty, its unique interpretation adds to the aesthetic connotation of " Having no depraved thoughts ".3.Discussion on poetic thoughts of "Having no depraved thoughts".Throughout the ancient times, various interpretations of " Having no depraved thoughts ",although different, are not mutually exclusive, but together constitute the whole poetical concept of " Having no depraved thoughts ".This poetic concept can be grasped from five aspects: the essence of poetry, the function of poetry, the creation of poetry, the subject of poetry and the appreciation of poetry. The poetics of " Having no depraved thoughts " is essentially a kind of Confucian poetics, which has an undeniable authority in the field of Chinese classical poetics. This authority can be analyzed from the cultural character and political environment possessed by the subject of poetry activities, and also from the aesthetic attribute and tolerance of " Having no depraved thoughts " itself." Having no depraved thoughts " mainly regulates the emotional factors in poetry activities,so it has a profound impact on the presentation and the aesthetic pattern of emotional elements in Chinese classical poetry. From the perspective of the dual opposition of ethics and aesthetics in the modern context, the political and religious ethics of " Having no depraved thoughts " is a negative factor in poetry activities, but are ethics and aesthetics necessarily opposite? The ethics of " Having no depraved thoughts " should be reviewed objectively.
