An Application Of Open-lcass Teaching Mode In English Reading Teaching In Senior Middle School

The twenty-first century is a time of knowledge economy with information technology developing rapidly,information explosion,and international competition increasingly fierce.Knowledge economy needs a new kind of talented people with stronger communication and cooperation ability,information acquisition ability,problem-solving ability and creative thinking ability.The twenty-first century is desperate to reform traditional education mode and needs the appearance of new education mode.Under new historical conditions,the open-class teaching mode is a further development of heuristic educational thought.It is not only a kind of learning way for students,but it is a kind of teaching method,and even a kind of teaching thought.The meanings of the open-class teaching mode lie in deepening education reforms,promoting quality education,cultivating the healthy subject spirit of students in the new century,adapting to the development of students,developing students’ lifelong learning ability,promoting the development of students’ comprehensive learning ability and improving the quality of teaching on a large scale.In 2019,Hebei Province has implemented the new curriculum reform.In 2020,it will fully implement the new curriculum reform.In this situation,teachers and even the whole education world will find earth-shaking changes.So how do we react to this change? English reading is still a difficult point for students.So how can they improve their reading ability? This paper explains the meaning of the open-class teaching mode.In Class 833,Grade 11,Hengshui High School,the author has implemented the open-class teaching mode,analyzed the results,and gained insights from it,which lays the foundation of development of the open-class teaching mode.The paper adopts Questionnaire survey,Classroom Observation and interviewing method.Trhe authordid an experimental research on the students of class 832 and 833 in Hengshui High School.After adopting the open-class teaching model,students study more happily.Their reading ability is greatly improved,which is shown by their quantity of vocabulary and their understanding of the sentence structure.In the meantime,they have developed a good reading habit and shown more interest in English reading.Therefore,it is of great help to their English learning.
