| With the rapid development of China’s economic globalization in the new era,the demand for English majors is obviously on the rise,which puts forward new and higher requirements for application-oriented undergraduate colleges to train compound English majors.However,from the perspective of teaching quality evaluation of English majors in application-oriented undergraduate colleges,the results are not optimistic.Therefore,it is an important task for higher education research in China to explore the problems existing in the process of teaching quality evaluation for English majors in application-oriented undergraduate colleges and how to better train qualified and versatile talents for English majors to adapt to the economic and social development in the new era.From this point of view,this paper investigates the teaching quality evaluation of English majors in application-oriented universities from both theoretical and empirical perspectives.The research is carried out from the following aspects:First,based on theoretical analysis,this paper points out that the evaluation of teaching quality of English majors in application-oriented undergraduate colleges needs to form a dynamic system of continuous improvement,which runs through the whole process of teaching English majors in application-oriented undergraduate colleges,including before,during and after the implementation of teaching.Applied undergraduate college English major teaching quality evaluation based on the requirement of the national English professional applied talents cultivation orientation,aimed at school teaching quality of English major orientation and a starting point,highlight before the implementation of teaching,teaching implementation and teaching after implementation of continuous type,open,and systems,from the students,teachers,teaching entity space,software infrastructure,system,management and service)in four aspects,such as the content of the comprehensive evaluation system.Second,according to the research results show that although the current teaching quality of English majors in application-oriented undergraduate colleges and universities has a certain performance,more problems need to be solved urgently.For specific performance,an English major student interest and the colleges and universities and professional don’t match,English teachers’ professional theoretical and applied to connect and insufficiency,the English major curriculum and applied professional entity space not enough,the school teaching quality can’t meet the applied undergraduate colleges and universities teaching for English majors,school software infrastructure service failed to reflect the characteristics of applied talents training and so on five aspects.Third,based on empirical analysis,this paper finds that the current applied undergraduate college English major teaching quality the cause of the above five problems,main show is: students’ self-awareness limited cause students choose not rational,teachers of theoretical and applied deficiency of relationship between cognitive and self-improvement motivation,teaching curriculum and teaching material selection and matching degree is low,the school applied teaching software infrastructure strain mechanism of supply and lack of flexibility.Finally,based on theoretical and empirical analysis,this paper proposes the following optimization suggestions to help improve the teaching quality of English majors in current application-oriented universities.Firstly,improve student interest and school,major matching degree.Secondly,the teacher structure should be adjusted to enhance teachers’ professional theories and professional application skills.Third,improve the infrastructure,improve the infrastructure supply capacity,to meet the requirements of the application of English majors. |
