In this paper,taking the traditional monster image in the cartoon as the research object,the aesthetic value and innovative significance of the innovation of Chinese traditional monster image were explored,while the current situation of the innovation of Chinese traditional monster image was analyzed,and the misunderstanding existing in the innovation of Chinese traditional monster image was discussed.This paper is divided into five chapters.In the first chapter,the background and value of this research topic are discussed,and at the same time the relevant domestic research literatures are combed and analyzed,in order to determine the research ideas and research direction.Also the research difficulty and innovation points of this topic are summarized.In the second chapter,firstly the concept of monster is defined,then the reasons for the formation of monster are discussed in four aspects: religion,nature,natural and man-made disasters and politics,and finally the monster culture embodied in the carrier of Chinese art is analyzed.In the third chapter the innovation sense of animation monster image and its unique aesthetic value are analyzed,and the monster image innovation also contributes to the spread of Chinese folk culture;the monsters in Fire Child,Legend of the Water-Sprinkling Festival and other works who can represent the folk culture are chosen as cases to argue the opinion.At the same time,taking the objective aesthetic essence as the starting point,the unique human beauty,weird beauty,fantastic beauty and scary beauty of the monster image are analyzed.Chapters 4 are the key chapters of this paper.In the fourth chapter the present situation of monster image innovation development,the traditional monster image transformation,the open innovation of animation industry and the audience shift of monster image are elaborated,and also the relationship between animation plot and the monster image is explored,to discuss that the monster types and character should be able to fit the plot and to promote the development of the plot.Also the feasibility of cartoon monster image innovation design are analyzed;the modernization and Qversion of the monster character and the demonization of cartoon characters are all effective means of character design.In the fifth chapter the misunderstanding existing in the innovation of Chinese traditional image in China’s animation are analyzed.The monsters’ image lack their own national style and character connotation shaping,and there are commercial restrictions on the innovation of monster image.Therefore,it is concluded that nationality is the basis of animation’s survival and should be considered in balancing the development of commerce and art.
