Study On Master Taixu’s Buddhism Judgment Thought

Master Taixu,who is regarded as the ideologist and reforming practitioner in the world,is one of the most important persons in China’s modern history,and the leading authority and initiator of Buddhism and Buddhism reform movement,known to the education,academic and politics fields.The external crisis of Chinese and western culture and the internal crisis of catechism and teaching system in modern China led to the gradual decline of Buddhism.In the beginning of the decline of Buddhism and the revival of righteousness in modern times,the trend of judging and teaching was raised again.Master Taixu has been influenced by Buddhism since he was a child.After years of listening and thinking and practicing zen Buddhism,he put forward a systematic and integrated philosophy of judging and teaching,whose core content is not only the theoretical basis of Buddhism’s origin,but also the fundamental principle of the opportunity of buddhist doctrine.There are three periods in the evolution of judging religion,namely,the formative period is divided into sub-pontifical and sub-pontifical,the development period advocates the equality and openness of the eight sects,and the mature period advocates the integration of the three aspects of teaching and practice.Master Taixu tried to restore the reasonable position of traditional Chinese Buddhism by judging the religion as the guidance,which was embodied in the revitalization of Chinese Buddhism.Master Taixu responded positively to the debate of righteousness and emphasized the unity of the teaching principles and practices,and promoted the reform of buddhist teaching system and teaching production to save the world and the people.In the aspect of promoting life Buddhism,it focuses on explaining the principle and purview of mahayana Buddhism.In the construction of world Buddhism,it mainly analyzes its objective needs,realistic conditions and cultural significance.From the perspective of Buddhism,history and culture,Taixu’s philosophy of judging and teaching presents three characteristics: new and consistent,and cultural consciousness.To sum up,before and after the master Taixu puts forward to three periods of teaching theory,and with the guiding ideology,continue to deepen reform of the buddhist movement to the revitalization of the Chinese buddhist and construction of the world,therefore,to master Taixu to maintain the status of the Chinese traditional buddhist teaching thoughts and promote the reasonable opportunity to adapt to the modern transformation has made an indelible contribution.On the one hand,this paper tries to understand the development trend and challenges of Buddhism in modern China by studying Taixu’s judgment thoughts.On the other hand,the author tries to integrate Taixu’s judgment thoughts into his teaching foundation,so as to better grasp the connotation and characteristics of the whole buddhist thought,and on this basis to improve the ability to identify the true and false knowledge of Buddhism,so as to provide some references for the real play of the value and significance of Buddhism in contemporary times.
