The Art Visual Expression Of Woodcut Engraving Knife Language

New century,great changes have taken place in the concepts and practices of art.The rapid development of new media art gives birth to a variety of artistic techniques.Among them,woodcut prints showed the charming of knife language in artistic visual expression,due to the particularity of its creation and the sociality of its development.This charm gives woodcut prints unique value and status in the field of art,and it is an indispensable art category in the historical evolution of Chinese fine arts.Woodcut print has its artistic value and status in the art field since ancient times,and has become an important art category in the development and process of Chinese art history owning to its unique characteristics.Woodcut prints have a very wide range of expression way and forms ever since its development,because of the difference of individual cultural background,social context and ideological cognition,the creators have group characteristics and individual differences in the creation of visual expression of knife language art,this becomes the independent symbols of formal structure,rhythmic beauty and visual characteristics of printmaking works,and also form important elements of artistic language characteristics of painters.This paper summarized the historical evolution process of woodcut engraving knife language,analyzed the factors affecting the visual expression of woodcut engraving knife language art,compared the forms of Chinese and Western woodcut engraving knife,and analyzed the creation and development of the visual expression of contemporary woodcut engraving knife language art.In the second chapter,the historical evolution of woodcut engraving knife language was sorted out,emphasis was put on the evolution and innovation of engraving knife language under different historical backgrounds.In the third chapter,by combining with the professional knowledge of the author’s subject,expounded the importance of various elements of visual art expression in woodcut engraving knife language.Meanwhile,we have made a comparative study of knife language and analyzes the form of knife language of China and Western via visual art,psychology,linguistics,aesthetics and art linguistics.In the fourth chapter,through the investigation of Chinese and Western woodcutengraving knife language art visual form,combining modern visual image cognition,language differences between Chinese and western knife method and their practical experience in woodcut engraving art creation,the visual expression form and emotional expression form of knife language art were analyzed,aiming to provide theoretical support for the development of the visual expression form and emotional expression form of woodcut engraving in the creation of contemporary Chinese prints.
