Vegetation is always closely related to human development.In the long history,vegetation has been given new connotations,and at the same time,they have been interacting with other cultures as well as resulting in a set of cultural system related to vegetation.For the ancient ancestors,vegetation is not only the source of food and medicine,but also the source of various sacrifices.“Drilling wood for fire” makes people feel the power of fire and leads them to a civilized society.“Shennong tasted all kinds of herbs” makes people have medicine to use and grain to eat,which further improved people's lives.The development of agriculture,the renovation of transportation and the innovation of tools are all inseparable from the application and transformation of vegetation.The development and evolution of vegetation culture is also accompanied by the casting and development of a national culture.At the same time,the study of vegetation is a further enrichment and supplement to the plant ecological culture system.In view of this,this paper takes the narration of vegetation in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research objects,and expounds the relationship between vegetation and literature by sorting out its categories,exploring the significance of narratology,excavating aesthetic characteristics and realizing its cultural value.The introduction part introduces the significance of the topic,related concepts and research status of vegetation.The main part consists of four chapters:The first chapter analyzes the origin and types of the vegetation narrative in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties.while facing vegetation narrative's long history,it is necessary to sort out the vegetation narrative of the novels before Ming Dynasty in order to have a more profound and comprehensive understanding of the vegetation narrative in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties.Considering a large number of novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties,the author must classify vegetation narration involved in them,so as to grasp and recognize the vegetation narration in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties as a whole.The second chapter is to explore the characteristics of vegetation narrative in Ming and Qing novels mainly from the perspective of narratology.First of all,the vegetation narration in Ming and Qing novels can be divided into protagonist type and theme type from the category of series plot structure.Secondly,the narration of vegetation in the novels of Ming and Qing dynasties can help to complete the narrative transformation of time and space in the plot.Then,the narration of vegetation in the novels of Ming and Qing dynasties also plays an important role in shaping the environment in the plot.Finally,it discusses the narrative significance of vegetatiob in shaping characters.The third chapter expounds the aesthetic characteristics of the vegetation narration in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties.It mainly analyzes from four angles: the aesthetic transformation from the image of vegetation to the narration of vegetation,the rise of the narration in the novel,The theme of the metaphor of personalization of plants and trees—Taking the example of Romance of Vegetation in Spring and Autumn,and the comparison of the aesthetics of vegetation in the dream of Red Mansions and the Flowers in the Mirror.The fourth chapter is to analyze the cultural connotation of the vegetation narration in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties.First of all,from the perspective of folk culture to explore the activities of vegetation in folk life,including daily life,festivals and customs,divination and sacrifice,traditional allusions,reflecting the importance of vegetation culture in daily life of Ming and Qing Dynasties.Secondly,explore the literary motifs in the narrative of vegetation in Ming and Qing novels,“tree cutting” and “fairy grass” which are as the most representative,reflecting thearchetypal culture and ancient emotion of the vegetation narration in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties with a long history.Finally,we explore the cultural reflection in the narrative of vegetation,and explore the connotation of the narrative of vegetation as a whole.The appendix is a brief review of the vegetation narration in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties.
