Facing the phenomenon that capital and technology produce commercial literature for the masses together,it is necessary to re-examine the value of literature from multiply aspect in order to ensure that literature can exist for Human being.The theory of consumer culture contains important factors that can influence the value of today's commercial literature.Therefore,we can focus on a typical thing of consumer culture,the stylization of network literature,to investigate the change of literary value in the current social context.By tracing the process of stylization of network literature,it is found that as a cultural form highly depending on material and technology,network literature will inevitably be included in consumer cultures.Consumer culture not only makes genre literature become the mainstream of network literature,but also affects the change of the value of network literature with its dynamic law.With the influence of consumer culture,the pattern of reproduction of Chinese network literature shows the compound characteristic of Fordism and post-Fordism.Therefore,the value of literature meets problems such as homogenization and fashionization.In the synchronic research,the value of network genre literature can be described as Shuang.This value has three dimensions: according to the way of dividing the style of the text,Shuang value is the result of following market segmentation;according to its selection of theme and narrative strategy,the Shuang serves the general desires of the contemporary public;according to its unique setting,the logic of imagination of Shuang value is based on the concept of hyper-reality brought by the new media.These three dimensions are related to the three factors of consumer culture.Therefore,it can be said that Shuang is the manifestation that the network literature is influenced by consumer culture.The controversy caused by Shuang reflects the contradiction between the economy and culture,as well as the differences among various cultural groups.In fact,on the one hand,Shuang value inherits the value of traditional literature in authenticity,creativity and enlightenment,on the other hand,it shows a new form of literary value because of the influence caused by commerce andtechnology.Synchronic analysis should also be used to research the external environment of the literature.The formation of Shuang value must be understood in the relationship between the business system,the participating subject and the media technology,in other word,a specific system that can affect literary value has been formed in the consumer culture.As a complex system,consumer culture is the arena of literary value.First of all,its internal reproduction of literary value is accompanied by the reproduction of commercial value which determines the sliding between the creation of literary value and the realization of commercial value.Second,the three elements of commercial system,participants and media technology are not only committed to influencing literary value in their own way,but also interact on each other thus changing the relationship between them constantly.So the value of literature is varied and volatile.To research the process,performance and mechanism of consumer culture's influence on literary value,the proposal is that what we should do is to be vigilant against cultural capital,to be brave to point out the unreasonable pattern of cultural production and cultural consumption in the market system,and prevent literature and art from becoming slaves to capital and losing the value for Human being.We should break the link between cultural self-discipline and elitism,step out of the ivory tower,join the public literary movement equally,and support the development of popular culture with critical practice and theoretical work.For the sake of realizing of humanity value indeed,we should be idealists to pursue a society where consumer culture no longer exists.Hence we should turn our face to the public and carry out literature education that have the spirit of aesthetic education.
