| Fang yurun(1811-1883)whose book of The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning is a work that cannot be circumscribed by modern scholars studying.It is generally recognized that Fang Yurun belongs to The Independent Thinking School.He can reject the idea of family,and break through the traditional Confucian classics to the restraint of The book of songs,highlighting a new way of poetry interpretation.Fang Yurun was unknown until the 1920 s found by Liang Qichao,Hu shi,Gu Jiegang,and other scholars who retrace the revolutionary significance of The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning.The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning has both the innovation to the predecessors and the inheritance to the predecessors.Fang yurun is not isolated from the tradition of Confucian classics.Only by returning to the context of the history of traditional The book of songs can we truly grasp the original intention of The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning and its position in history.This paper hopes to understand the connotation of The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning and presents its status in the history of The book of songs as far as possible from the standpoint of Fang yurun.As MAO’s poetry and Shi Ji Zhuan are the most important works in the history of The book of songs,and they are also the dialogue objects that Fang Yurun talks about repeatedly.This paper discusses ‘romantic poem’ view,‘Zheng Bian’ view,the purport of the poem and other important questions by comparing with MAO’s poetry and Shi Ji Zhuan,to observe what inheritance and innovation by The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning,to highlight its position and value in the book of history.The first chapter mainly discusses Fang Yurun’s method of understanding poetry.FangYurun inherited Zhu Xi’s method of interpreting poems that emphasizing the intensive reading poetry text over and over again,and this method is different from MAO’s poetry.Then,taking the problem of the romantic poem as the breakthrough point which observes Fang Yurun’s opposition to Zhu Xi’s romantic poem as well as the return of the old theory of ‘satirizing lewd’ in MAO’s poetry,and it reveals the complicated physiognomy of Fang Yurun’s points in the history of The book of songs.‘Zheng Bian’ is the dominant question of the history of The book of songs and one of the most innovative contents in Fang Yurun’s The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning which concerns the overall structure of The Book of Songs but many previous researchers paid less attention.Chapter two makes a thorough description of the similarities and differences between Fang Yurun,MAO’s poetry,and Zhu Xi on the issue of ‘Zheng Bian’,thus presenting Fang Yurun’s absorption and breakthrough of traditional ‘Zheng Bian’view.The purpose of poetry is the core of The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning.The predecessors put more emphasis on the innovation of Fang Yyurun’s the purpose of poetry,but paid less attention to the inheritance of the predecessors.So in the third chapter,the purpose of poetry is divided into the exploration of the facts and value judgment.Taking Zhou nan,Shaonan and Zheng Feng as examples,I will compare the similarities and differences between MAO’s poetry and Shi Ji Zhuan in the exploration of the facts and value judgment which will show more clearly the inheritance of Fang Yurun’s the purpose of poetry to predecessors.Through the investigation of the intensive reading poetry text,‘romantic poem’,‘Zheng Bian’,the purpose of poetry and other issues,the Confucian classics’ characteristics of The Book of Songs’ Original Meaning can be concretely presented. |
