Emotional competence,which is composed of emotion understanding and emotion regulation,plays an important role in preschool children’s physical and mental development as an important part of their own ability and social ability.As preschool children’s adaptability and recovery ability in the face of difficulties,setbacks and conflicts,resilience will have an impact on their physical and mental development.This study explored the influence of preschool children’s emotional competence on their resilience through two variables: Preschool children’s emotion understanding and emotion regulation strategies.In this study,280 3-6-year-old preschool children from Yuhua District,Shijiazhuang City,Hebei Province were selected as the research objects by random sampling.In addition,274 valid data were obtained by eliminating the invalid subjects caused by invalid data and data missing.The research adopts the experimental method and the questionnaire survey method,an experimental research was conducted on preschool children’s emotion understanding,a questionnaire survey was conducted on preschool children’s emotion regulation strategies and preschool children’s resilience.Among them,the experiment of preschool children’s emotion understanding includes six parts: expression recognition,emotion perspective-taking ability,ability of explaining the reason of emotion,desire-based emotion understanding,belief-based emotion understanding,conflict emotion understanding.The questionnaire includes two parts: 《the questionnaire of preschool children’s emotion regulation strategies》and 《Chinese version of DECA-P2》.Through the research results,we can know that:1.In the research of preschool children’s emotional competence:(1)There are significant differences in the tasks and total scores of preschool children’s emotion understanding in age.Preschool children’s emotion understanding develops with age.There is no significant gender difference in preschool children’s emotion understanding,and the interaction effect between age and gender is not significant.(2)The order of preschool children’s recognition of the four basic emotions is anger > happy > sad > fear.(3)There are significant differences in the total scores of preschool children’s emotion regulation strategies,such as cognitive reconstruction,problem-solving,self-comfort,passive coping,emotional venting and emotional regulation strategies total score.Preschool children’s positive emotion regulation strategies develop with age,and negative emotion regulation strategies stagnate with age.There are significant differences in the strategies of aggressive behavior between the sexes.Boys adopt more negative emotion regulation strategies than girls.The interaction effect between age and gender was not significant.(4)In preschool children’s emotion regulation strategies,there are significant differences in alternative activity strategy and seeking support strategy between father’s educational backgrounds,and in cognitive reconstruction strategy and self-comfort strategy between mother’s educational backgrounds.2.In the study of preschool children’s resilience:(1)There are significant differences in age in the dimensions of initiative,self-regulation and attachment / relationship.Initiative and self-regulation increase with age,while attachment / relationship decreases with age.(2)There are significant differences in gender in the dimensions of initiative,attachment / relationship and overall protective factors.On the whole,girls’ resilience scores are higher than boys’ and boys have more behavioral problems than girls.(3)There is interaction effect between age and gender in initiative dimension and total protective factors.(4)There are significant differences in the dimensions of attachment / relationship and behavior problems between parents’ education.The higher the parents’ education,the better the development of children’s attachment / relationship level,and the lower the occurrence of behavior problems.3.On the research of preschool children’s emotional competence and resilience development:(1)The higher the scores of emotion understanding,emotion regulation strategy and emotional competence,the higher the level of preschool children’s resilience.Different levels of preschool children’s resilience have significant differences in preschool children’s emotion regulation strategies and preschool children’s emotional competence.The higher score of children’s positive emotion regulation strategy,the higher level of preschool children’s resilience;the lower score of preschool children’s negative emotion regulation strategy,the higher level of preschool children’s resilience.(2)There was a significant positive correlation between preschool children’s emotional competence and resilience.(3)Preschool children’s emotional competence can positively predict their resilience and has an impact on it.
