《Variations On A Theme Of "Long Time No See"》Research On Creative Techniques

Young composer Zhao Xiaochen’s music creation mostly revolves around the national and folk materials,among which Hainan style music creation achievement is particularly outstanding.His works are based on the traditional music culture of the Li nationality in Hainan and integrate modern western composing techniques,striving to explore a new way of combining modernity with tradition,technology and content for the inheritance and development of the music culture of the Li nationality in Hainan.His works include symphonies,musicals,operettas,concertos,chamber music,choral music,and a lot of other genres of music.These works show creative skills and personalized personal characteristics in line with The Times,but their core material characteristics and performance methods are still full of rich flavor of Hainan Li music culture.Variations on a Theme from "Long Time No See" were created by the new li folk song "long time no see" as the theme.In this work,the characteristics of pitch and interval in traditional Li folk songs are extracted as the core motivation,and the composer’s abundant emotion and personalized creative thinking are integrated into the works.While continuing the musical elements of Li folk songs,a variety of creative means are used to give them a new image,reflecting the sincere and simple love of Li youth incisively and vividly.This thesis takes this variation as the research object,and makes a comprehensive and systematic research and discussion on the theme form,five variations,form structure,mode tonality,chord structure and realistic meaning of this work from the perspective of composing techniques.The thesis consists of introduction,four chapters and conclusion.In the introduction,this paper briefly introduces the basic situation of Zhao Xiaochen and " Piano Music Of Hainan Style ",and gives a brief overview of the theme and style of the collection,so that we can have a certain understanding of Zhao Xiaochen’s creative thinking of Hainan style piano works.First to the fourth chapter the thesis main part,based on to deeply and systematically studied and analyzed the Score variations on the theme from "Long Time No See" all aspects of the forms and methods,including the subject form and melody structure,mode,tonality,chord structure and writing reviews,etc.The conclusion analyzes each chapter,research and summary of each chapter points out that Zhao Xiaochen art vitality in Hainan folk music,form has a simple music styles and techniques of abundance work form,so as to explore a road of the rich features of Hainan style music,and it can also be for creation of the author and other music workers has Hainan style charm of music works.
