A Study Of Bourdieu’s Theory Of Interest

The dispute about aesthetics is not only the formal sense of aesthetics,but also the construction of aesthetics by the social mechanism.It is the core of bourdieu’s theory to discuss beauty and aesthetics in the social background and analyze its social mechanism.This paper is divided into four chapters to analyze in detail the origin of bourdieu’s theory,the relationship between interest and class distinction,the factors affecting the generation of interest and the criticism of the theory.Blaustein’s interest is based on the criticism of inheriting Kant’s pure interest,which is directed at the construction of social mechanism on the interest of different classes.This paper focuses on the relationship between class and interest.Through the analysis of economic capital,cultural capital,social capital and other factors that influence the interest,it is pointed out that the elite class’ s rule over the mass class is realized through the control of cultural,economic,political and other symbolic powers.The last part of the paper analyzes the criticism of blaustein’s theory,which mainly comes from the criticism of popular aesthetics and the miscellaneous theory of American culture.Although bourdieu’s theory of fun had many critics at that time,there was no denying bourdieu’s influence in France and even in the world.
