The entry of seasonal elements into literature is a gradual process. The seasonal consciousness of literati experienced the change from obscure to definite. In the Wei and Jin Dynasties, seasonal writing developed along two poetic paths.Path one: Poets followed the pattern formed since the Pre-qin and Han Dynasties.Literati regarded the seasons as a symbol of the passage of time and as a vehicle to trigger emotions. They’re the emotional appendage of the poets. In addition, poets often used various seasonal images to express their emotions. The reason why these seasonal images can be selected into poetry is closely related to the thinking mode of ancient people’s analogy.Path two: Poets developed the seasonal writing mode that inclined to physical description. In this mode, the season seeks to jump out of the sadness of the passage of time. The season became an object of appreciation for poets. The poets’ attitude towards seasonal scouting shifted from sentimentality to appreciation. In Eastern Jin Dynasty, the metaphysics was prevailing. The poets obtained enlightenment in the landscape. It further improved the independent aesthetic status of the seasonal scenery. But on the whole, there were no poems objectively portraying the seasons in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. The writing of season was basically inseparable from the "feelings" and "metaphysical".In addition, the textual description of seasonal scenes involved the concretion of the poet’s sensory experience.Observing the seasons in terms of visual and auditory experience is helpful for us to have a more comprehensive understanding of the the writing of seasons in Wei and Jin Dynasties. Moreover, poets observed the seasons using to "looking up and down".This shows the ancient Chinese aesthetic way to heaven and earth. This paper can be regarded as a chronology study of "seasonal writing in poetry".The study hope to have a new discovery of poetry of Wei and jin Dynasties.
