| In September and October of 2013,Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the“Belt and Road” cooperation initiative during his visits to Central and Southeast Asian countries, with the aim of promoting the development of countries along the route and sharing the development results with people in different countries. The documentary relies on its innate authenticity, and at the same time has a rich audiovisual language to attract different audience. It can be seen that through these documentaries, they can effectively undertake the mission of cross-cultural dissemination of China ’s “Belt and Road” initiative. Therefore, the main content of this article is to analyze the cross-cultural dissemination of 13 documentaries with the background of the “Belt and Road” that have been produced or broadcast on CCTV since the “Belt and Road” initiative was launched in 2013.The first chapter of this article is the cross-cultural communication concept that emphasizes differences.Through the "grassroots" perspective, diverse identities, foreign characters as the representative of civilian expressions, and emotional stories that reflect real emotions and tell real stories,as well as international non-linear narratives and vivid suspense setting relied on structured narrative. These three major methods are different from and get rid of the obsolete model of the politicalization and forcible preaching of the documentary films in China through different overall thinking.Of course, the current“Belt and Road”documentaries still have the danger of over-interpretation.It is necessary to adhere to the principle of moderation in interpretation,so as to prevent overseas audiences from having a bad impression of the relevant documentaries. The second chapter is about diversified communication subjects. The author divides the current "Belt and Road" documentaries into historical and cultural subjects, humanities and society subjects, natural scenery subjects and anthropology subjects, which respectively show the cultural heritage of our country, the theme of the "Belt and Road",the spirit of the Silk Road, and China’s Regional culture, strengthening theaudiences within different cultures to the "Belt and Road" documentaries and even the initiative itself from different views. In this process,we need to pay attention to some technical control issues, which mainly reflected in the use of interpretation and special effects in historical and cultural documentaries.Do not use them throughout the documentary, which causes the documentary to lose its authentic soul. The third chapter is diversified cross-cultural communication strategies. These strategies mainly include cross-cultural cooperation, building communication platforms and training opinion leaders with cross-cultural characteristics.Through the introduction and cultivation of talents, the use of technology, the expansion of content, the documentary exhibitions or festivals and the joint assistance of the Internet and new media, the cross-cultural transmission of "Belt and Road" documentaries has a more solid strategic guarantee.Because the research text of this article are the documentaries produced or broadcast by CCTV,relevant "Belt and Road" theme documentaries produced by satellite TVs,media companies or overseas TV stations in other regions have not been involved too much. Therefore, the author hopes that more research will focus on these perspectives in the future in order to give play to the unique advantages of these subjects and make the "Belt and Road" documentaries and even the initiative itself more effective in cross-cultural communication. |
