Eug(?)ne Ysa(?)e,an outstanding Belgium violinist, conductor and composer since the second half of 19 th century, represented a development of modern violin as one of the flexible musicians who combined composition with performance practice. As a remarkable pioneer of modern violin,Ysa(?)e was innately talented in performance and composition, particularly his exemplary violin performance skills, musical understanding as well as his performing style and artistic perspectives.Unlike the prior classical or romantic music, his unique musical style merged with his own understanding was perceived to be relatively richer and diverse.Ysa(?)e's Sonata articles specifically required not only improvement on performance skills but also a realistic combination with individual music understanding by adding musicality simultaneously along with highlights of difficult skills. For instance, the No.2 Sonata for Solo Violin(Op.27)by Ysa(?)e is dedicated to French violinist Jacques Thibaud. The first movement of this sonata directly cited the Prelude ofBach's "Third Suite" as an inheritance and tribute to Bach.Besides, the requiem "Dies Irae" in Gregory's chant was introduced and applied to the whole music, making the sonata highly uniform and consistent. This article firstly analyzes the sonata's creative background, music structure, performance skills, music performance and other aspects to give readers a deeper understanding and a more comprehensive interpretation of the performance and interpretation of the work.
