| In the history of modern Chinese literature,Li Jieren is generally regarded as an important Sichuan writer. His masterpiece "Dahe Trilogy" describes the magnificent historical picture of modern China in a panoramic way, which has high literary value and historical research value, and is known as "the modern history of novels".However,in the existing study of Li Jieren, many researchers focus on the regional characteristics of Li Jieren’s works, resulting in Li Jieren’s research being framed under the big label of "regional".How to release Li Jieren and his works from the "regionality",enrich the research field and artistic value of his works, and give more appropriate literary interpretation has become a concern of many researchers. The academic circles have different opinions on this, which can be called the so-called "Li Jieren problem".In order to break the "regional" shackles of Li Jieren, this paper will start from the relationship between Li Jieren and the juvenile Chinese society, and study how he broke through the regional restrictions with the help of the juvenile Chinese society, combined with the May 4th New Culture Movement and even the world literature wave sweeping the country. This paper focuses on the reasons why Li Jieren joined the young Chinese society and how to become an important leader and disseminator of the May 4th new ideas and new culture in the southwest. At the same time,it further studies two "non regional" factors in Li Jieren’s works: French literature and novels in the late Qing Dynasty.Whether accepting the influence of French literature or criticizing the current politics,it is closely related to the writers’ participation in the Youth Chinese society and the new culture movement.French literature had a far-reaching influence on Li Jieren’s creation, which made his works get a qualitative leap in organizational structure, aesthetic characteristics and language style. In Li Jieren’s early novels, there was a strong flavor of condemnation novels in the late Qing Dynasty,no matter the writing technique or the ideological theme. |
