A Geographic Study On The Mongolian Dialect In Xing’an League

The Mongolian dialect spoken in Xing’an League has the characteristics of the Horqin dialect,and some have the characteristic of the Karaqin dialect.Based on the previous literature,this thesis,by employing the outline of the research project on “Mongolian Dialect Map of China”,conducts a survey on the characteristics of the pronunciation,grammar,and vocabulary of the dialects in Xing’an League within the framework of the descriptive,the comparative as well as the dialect geography methods.The thesis consists of five chapters including the introduction,first chapter,second chapter,third chapter and conclusion.The introduction part deals with the general situation of Xing’an League,literature review on the dialect,the purpose and significance of the study,research methodology as well as the research materials and subjects.The first chapter includes three parts of the survey data on the pronunciation,the analysis and the summary of its characteristics.By comparing the vowels and consonants of the Mongolian dialect in Xing’an League with those of the Mongolian written language,this thesis reveals the phonetic features of the Mongolian dialect spoken in Xing’an League and illustrates them in graphs.The second chapter handles with the following three aspects of the survey data on the grammar,the analysis and the summary of its characteristics.In this part,the grammatical materials are divided into the content words and the function words in order to reveal the grammatical characteristics of the Mongolian dialect being spoken in Xing’an League.An illustration is also made to the special grammatical phenomena in the dialects.The third chapter elaborates on three respects of the survey data on vocabulary,the analysis and the summary of its characteristics.By comparing the lexical meanings and usages of the Mongolian dialect in Xing’an League with those existing in Mongolian written language and in other dialects,this thesis studies the characteristics of the vocabulary of the Mongolian dialect in the Xing’an League,on the basis of which,some distinguished characteristics of the vocabulary phenomena are illustrated in graphs.The conclusion part summarizes the whole thesis.
