| In recent years,with the vigorous development of economy and increasingly cultural exchanges in Ningbo,in particular,the ongoing escalation of tourism,tourists from abroad are swarming into Ningbo to visit and study,which requests the publicity work should keep pace with the times.However,the quality of tour commentaries in English translation is less satisfactory.The current report primarily comprises five parts.The first part of this report gives a brief elaboration of task description,including the background and significance of the translation report and also explains the introduction to the publicity material.The second part introduces process description,including pre-translation preparation and problems to be aware of in the process of translation.The third is theoretical basis,including functional equivalence theory,translation compensation strategies and necessity of adopting the strategies.The fourth part is case analysis involving challenges in translation,analyzing culture-loaded expressions from the lexical,syntactic,textual and stylistic perspectives.The last is the conclusive part,and there are three points to be summarized: one is how to appropriately address such challenges as culture-loaded expressions;another is to figure out the cultural compensation strategy is most adopted,the pragmatic compensation strategy is more used and the aesthetic compensation strategy is the least adopted in this tour commentary of the Moon Lake Scenic Area by means of quantitative and qualitative analysis;and the third is what the author has gained in this translation practice,search quotient,the newly fundamental requirement on translators included. |
