Mental time travel allows an individual to subjectively position himself to an event that he has experienced to re-experience his or her past(episodic memory),or to position himself into the future to experience an event(episodic foresight).This study paid attention to the characteristics and functions of mental time travel for sophomores in early youth,and tried to induce situational specificity(Episodic specificity induction,ESI),a short training that significantly improved the number of details by recalling the past.It also has a positive impact on problem solving,divergent thinking and mental health)optimizing the performance of individuals on foresight and future orientation tasks.Study 1 took 30 high school students in early youth and 31 elderly people as research objects,asking participants to recall the past and imagine future events.Through analysis of scenario details and subjective assessments,the characteristics of individual psychological time travel in different age groups were compared.And functional differences.In study 2,30 senior high school students in early youth were selected as the research object.By comparing the number of details of the individual recalling the past and imagining the future,the subjective scores of the scenario tasks and their performances under different induction conditions(episodic specificity induction and control conditions).Future orientation tasks(plus the questionnaire title Future Orientation Questionnaire,which mainly includes education,future career and future marriage and family,and personal essays on future goals and plans)to test the situation-specific induction of the future orientation of senior high school students Possible facilitation of behavior planning.The results showed that the situation specificity induced significant differences in the details of the situation,the difference in the overall scores in the profession,and the composition scores of the individuals increased significantly.The following conclusions were reached through two studies:1.Compared with the elderly,high school students can produce more internal details when imagining far future events;when recalling the past,the high definition and emotional richness of subjective assessment of high school students are lower,and the function of episodic memory no seniors play well.2.Episodic specificity induction effectively improves the details of the scenario produced by high school students when imagining future events,and promotes the individual's performance in the assessment of future orientation.
