This paper takes the aesthetic presentation of daily life by British scholar Mike Featherstone as the starting point,through the relevant judgment of "The Aestheticization of Everyday Life",to build a bridge,connecting the design discipline,mutual perspective,communication and response.And this paper,in this sense,contacts the "new ugly" phenomenon in contemporary graphic design.After sorting out the historical context of "new ugly",focusing on the conscious or unconscious "the aestheticization of everyday life" in its relevant practical exploration,the paper takes a close look at the origin and re-explores the Hidden Value Discourse and motivation,trying to present a diversified picture of contemporary graphic design activities.This paper first discusses the important value and Enlightenment of "aesthetic presentation of daily life" for the development of design theory and practice.Secondly,it considers the possibility of interpreting various languages and practical ways in contemporary graphic design activities from the perspective of "aesthetic presentation of daily life".These two clues also lay the main narrative path after the article.In the second chapter,I first review the origin and development of the research on daily life in western philosophy.Then,starting from the logical starting point of daily aestheticization,this paper summarizes the three dimensions of "the aestheticization of everyday life" proposed by Mike Featherstone.The third chapter,mainly based on the perspective of design discipline,discusses the proposition of "the aestheticization of everyday life" in the field of human literature from the provision of aesthetic substance,the components of daily life and the designed "third dimension",and explains the close relationship between the formation and development of "the aestheticization of everyday life" and design.Then,on the basis of this significance,the perspective is turned to graphic design.Chapter four and chapter five are the core of this paper.Firstly,starting from the development and change of "new ugly",the paper makes a comprehensive summary of several important events about "new ugly" in the field of graphic design in the last forty or fifty years,as well as the summary of historical background at that time.Then on this level,we try to discuss "new ugly" as a phenomenon in contemporary graphic design.And through the connection of contemporary graphic design related practice activities has consciously or unconsciously "the aestheticization of everyday life" expression,respectively,from the road observation and daily design,two kinds of meaning of fuzzy,after the classic naive words to elaborate these three aspects.Then,the activity picture of contemporary graphic design is outlined.Finally,as a participant to ponder and practice.Through the research,this paper believes that the burst of "new ugly" reflects the behavior and direction of contemporary graphic design activities in such a complex,polysemous and rapidly changing era context.The occurrence of this phenomenon is not a single individual’s behavior,but a local individual activity.A part of graphic designers are struggling from the same,simple and kitsch commercial works,and gradually devote themselves to the experimental exploration of daily cultural phenomena and various purposes,so as to express multiple concepts and catalyse life dreams.
