A Study On Chen Pengnian And His Poems And Proses

Chen Pengnian was a famous incorruptible official,scholar,poet and calligrapher in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty.Although he was an official all his life and had a busy administration,he loved to make friends and paid attention to friendship.He had close contacts with some members of the "fifteen litterateurs of Jiangzuo".He attended meetings and discussed poems.Therefore,he was good at both poetry and prose,recording life and expressing mood with literary works.His poetry creation is closely related to his life experience.It is not only the representation of his rough official experience and honest temperament,but also the epitome of the living state of the Han scholars and officials during the reign of Kangxi.Based on the previous studies,this paper attempts to discuss Chen Pengnian’s poems and works.This paper consists of seven parts: the introduction summarizes the significance of the topic and research methods.The first chapter introduces Chen Pengnian’s family background,life experience and works.First of all,from the background of family,introduce the basic situation of Chen Pengnian family,and then explain Chen Pengnian’s life experience and writing,The aim is to have a general care and grasp of the basic situation of Chen Pengnian.The second chapter has introduced the acquaintances figure of Chen Pengnian,which is divided into two sections: the relatives and friends of Hunan nationality and the friends other than those of Hunan nationality that he met when he was an official.The friends with the most social traces are selected for discussion.The third chapter discusses Chen Pengnian’s literary ideas,which are divided into two parts: poetic ideas and prose ideas.The fourth chapter discusses Chen Pengnian’s poetry creation.First of all,according to the theme and content of his poems are divided,and the representative poems are selected for specific analysis,in order to show the changes of the poet’s mind.Secondly,some poems with strong artistry are selected and analyzed from the aspects of language,emotion,style,etc.In order to summarize the overall artistic style of their poems.The fifth chapter discusses Chen Pengnian’s prose creation.Chen Pengnian,as a famous official of his generation,pays attention to the practicability of the article,so his prose creation is mostly functional.This chapter first classifies his prose according to the subject content,then analyzes his artistic style from the aspects of prose language,emotion,narration,etc.The epilogue summarizes the gain and loss of Chen Pengnian’s poetry creation,and summarizes his position and influence in the Kangxi literature arena.
