Ethical Study On Moral Judgment Of "Cognition-intuition"

How to make moral judgments for individuals in the real life of diversified values? Two representative responses are formed in the history of philosophy.The emotionalism represented by Hume believes that reason is the servant of emotion,people rely on moral emotions and moral sense to make moral judgments,and rationalism represented by Kant believes that the logical starting point of moral judgment is as a rational person,the Categorical Imperative is the standard of moral judgment.In the influence of accepting sexism,moral judgment in traditional ethics is mechanical and single form.Moral judgment has got rid of a single cognitive mode since the occurrence of “cognitive revolution”,and “Cognition-Intuition”moral judgment has received the attention of academic circles.It opened up a new path for the study of moral judgment.“Cognition-Intuition”moral judgment is based on a new moral judgment model proposed by the emerging discipline of cognitive neuroscience.The concept of“cognition-intuition” was proposed by Adenekan Dedeke in 2013,who believes that in the process of complex moral judgment,both cognition and intuition can better promote our moral judgments and moral decisions.Haidt(2001)first proposed and defined moral intuition,he believed that moral intuition played a major role in moral judgment.Later Greene,director of Harvard University’s Center for Moral Cognition,combined with the empirical methods of psychology and neuroscience,proposed double processing of moral judgment.He believes that moral rationality and intuition work together in the process of moral judgment,and there is a competitive relationship between them.Whether Haidt’s view of moral intuition dominance or Greene’s suggestion of moral judgment and double processing theory,there are certain defects,so this article is taught on the basis of the concept of “cognition-intuition” by Professor Adenekan Dedeke.To enrich the theory of "cognitive-intuitive" moral judgment,combine the disciplines of ethics,cognitive neuroscience,psychology,behavioral science,etc..It can explore the internal mechanism of moral judgment and deepen the theory of moral judgment.The essence of moral judgment lies in the dual role of reason and emotion,but the internal structure of “emotion-rationality” in traditional moral judgment is mechanical and static,and the structure of “cognition-Intuition” moral judgment is dynamic,and it goes deep.Studying human brain mechanisms is aim to analyze how intuition works in specific contexts and how the brain responds.The“cognition-Intuition”moral judgment takes moral judgment as the research object.Based on the research status of the traditional moral judgment research and moral judgment internal mechanism,it puts forward the research significance and value of the topic selection,mainly using literature research,logic analysis and theory combined practice.The research conducts systematic ethical research on“Cognition-Intuition” moral judgments based on cutting-edge scientific experiments,diversified social development,and moral philosophical foundations.The ethical research of “Cognition-Intuition”moral judgment includes four aspects: moral judgment subject,moral emotion participation,moral framework effect,and moral reflection.Firstly,the subject of moral judgment determines the psychological distance of moral judgment,because the psychological distance between moral agents and moral spectator is different in moral events,so the bias towards moral judgment is different.Secondly,the positive and negative design of moral framework affects the choice of moral judgment subject.In actual situations,moral judgment does not always obey rational design under different circumstances,it will be directly affected by emotions,so we should pay attention to the participation of automatic emotions;positive and negative emotions directly affect the reaction of moral judgment subjects.Emotions are an automatic participation process in moral judgment,negative emotions is more obvious.Finally,moral reflection is a rational intuition,it supplement the moral framework and moral intuition,meanwhile it makes the judgment more precise.The ethical study of “cognition-Intuition”moral judgment not only enriches the theory of moral judgment,but also promotes the direction of good moral practice.The study of “cognition-Intuition”moral judgment is a continuous process,it need more powerful empirical basis to provide a richer argument and basis for individual andorganizational moral judgment and decision-making.
