The success of learning Chinese as a second language is influenced by the use of Chinese learning strategies,which are restricted by individual factors such as gender,age,mother tongue,learning time and Chinese proficiency.On the basis of domestic and foreign research on second language learning strategies,this paper conducted a relatively comprehensive investigation and research on the learning strategies of 65 students in Botswana institute of education through a combination of personal interview,classroom observation and questionnaire.In quantitative statistical objective analysis on the basis of the classification of learning strategies and individual factors(gender,age,period of schooling and achievements)influence on learning strategy choice,the investigation on the general international Chinese teaching outline to sample and embodied in the classification of learning strategies,through EXACL pivot table and function to data analysis,in order to enrich the Chinese language teaching in Africa.(1)Senior class five or six students because of sufficient learning experience,in the face of difficulties will not be easy tension,anxiety,and can better use other ways to assist Chinese learning,in the emotional strategy,interdisciplinary strategy,learning strategy,resource strategy compared to the primary class first and second and middle class three or four levels are more fully utilized.(2)In the personal factors,the study years and the choice of strategies are more related,the more students study for a long time,the use of various learning strategies more comfortable,followed by gender differences,boys than girls,more easilycontrol their emotional changes,in the use of emotional strategies more fully.However,age and grades did not have a significant impact on the students of Kong Academy.(3)The classroom arrangement in the curriculum is also extremely important,too fast classroom learning is not conducive to the digestion and absorption of students,according to the local students learning speed to reasonable arrangement of the teaching process.(4)Students will be more efficient in choosing to learn Chinese because of their intrinsic motivation,the stronger their ability to manage and self-monitor,have greater expectations for successful learning of Chinese,and will choose and apply a variety of learning strategies to a higher degree.(5)In addition to teaching Chinese professional knowledge,teachers should also use learning strategy theory to guide students to learn,the teacher’s task now includes not only their own "how to teach" but also to guide students "how to learn."...
