| The report is a description of the author’s interpreting practice at the Afghanistan2019 Seminar on Investment Policies and Management,covering task description,preparations,on-the-spot interpreting,and case study.With the guidance of the Effort Model,the author explores how important preparations are for the overall performance.A comparison between the author’s preparations and the actual speeches is used to discuss how to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of preparations.The author intends to find the problems which share some commonalities in her rendition.By means of induction and generalization,the author,with the assistance of reference books,tries to improve the quality of translation.Through a thorough analysis of the task,the author finds that conversion and leveraging background knowledge are common methods to break with the grip of the forms of the source language,and hopefully,to get rid of translationese.The author hopes that the report can help her better understand conversion as a strategy,and offer some reference to novice interpreters and researchers. |
