Doctor kukotsky’s medical record is one of the novels written by ulyskaya,a contemporary Russian woman writer.The novel mainly tells about the people living in the Soviet society in the 20 th century.They are all sick individuals in different degrees,and each of them is suffering from identity loss.When looking for solutions to identity problems,some people pay a huge price.In the sufferings,the Soviet people found a way of salvation that implied new life and hope.This paper takes the identity problem as the breakthrough point,Charles Taylor’s theory of self origin,Bakhtin’s carnivalization theory,Saint fool culture and other theories as the research path,reveals the identity lost problem of the Soviet people in the 20 th century,shows the spiritual outlook and psychological status of the Soviet people in the 20 th century,reflects the author’s recollection and Reflection on the history of the Soviet Union in the 20 th century,and expresses the author’s recollection and Reflection on Russia The thought of the future development of Sri Lanka and the deep worry about the moral problems of human nature.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into three chapters,three chapters are the focus of this paper.The introduction introduces the research status of the novel doctor kukotsky’s medical record at home and abroad,as well as the research purpose and significance of this paper.In the first chapter,through studying the special action places of several characters,observing their strange behaviors,psychological phenomena and mental outlook,we find that Vasha is an individual who can’t control himself by collecting and fetishizing.Kukotsky is an individual who lost the right to dominate the public space,lost himself in the surrounding identification of himself and the subject’s display of himself,so he doubted his identity and finally became a "drunkard".Yelena is a woman who has neither the right to control public space nor the integrity of physical space.She is immersed in the dreamlike "middle world" all day long.Toma is a dissimilated "Soviet" influenced by "Soviet culture" and finally becomes a "parasite".It is concluded that although they suffer from different "diseases",they all have a common "symptom" which is "identity loss".s of three chapters.In the second chapter,due to the confusion and uneasiness brought by the lost identity to the Soviet people,it is very necessary to explore a plan to cure the "medical record".The Soviet people tried to solve the "disease" of the society from the "music experiment" and "spiritual wandering".The third chapter points out that although the solution of "medical record" fails,the newborn born with light makes us realize that newborn is the salvation of suffering and newborn is the hope of curing "medical record".The conclusion summarizes the above three chapters and reveals that the identity problem is an eternal topic in Russian culture and literature.Russians never give up thinking about the identity problem.The discussion of identity shows people’s thinking about the meaning of life,self identity and the sense of domination of public space.It is concluded that although the Soviet people in the 20 th century lived in a society suffering from many difficult and miscellaneous diseases,the suffering of life on the contrary aroused the Soviet people’s pursuit of spiritual freedom and their desire for new life and redemption.
