Idioms play an important role in Chinese vocabulary and Chinese culture.The better the Chinese learners have the idioms,the more authentic the Chinese they are learning.Therefore,In-depth research and analysis of idioms can not only enhance the interest and confidence of foreign students in learning Chinese,but also help them master more authentic Chinese.This article is a study of idioms teaching for intermediate Chinese learners.The first chapter discusses the background,significance and purpose of writing the thesis,and presents the relevant research results of idioms.The second chapter divides the idiom into two parts to explore its ontological knowledge.The first part is idiom.Based on the statistics of idioms in textbooks,the syllable and structural characteristics of idioms are summarized and analyzed.Syllable features,including overlapping and non-overlapping forms of syllables.According to the structural characteristics of idioms,idioms are divided into 7 categories,including joint,partial,and subject-predicate.The joint type accounted for the highest.The joint form is often composed of two similar or opposite parts,without modification,description or supplement.The second part includes proverbs,break words and idiomatic phrases.The characteristics of idioms can be summarized as "difficult and easy"."Difficult" means that the idiom has great flexibility in application.This flexibility is much higher than other idiomatic forms."Easy" means that the structure of idioms has great consistency and it is easier to learn.Proverbs are characterized by symmetry,metaphor,and popularity.Since there are fewer post-breaks,there is no separate discussion of the post-breaks.The third chapter investigates and analyzes the idiomatic learning situation of foreign students through the distribution of questionnaires.The questionnaire is divided into three parts,basic information of foreign students,basic knowledge of idioms and the use of specific idioms.The fourth chapter puts forward two idiom teaching principles that take middle and senior students as the teaching subject and rely on Chinese culture.In addition to teaching principles,some suggestions are made for students,teachers,and teaching materials.Suggestions for teachers include eliminating fear and stimulating learning interest;creating scenarios,from "meeting" to "use".The suggestion for textbooks is to increase the reproduction of idioms in textbooks;the idioms supplemented after class should be consistent with the text content or the corresponding cultural knowledge points.It is suggested that in addition to classroom learning,international students can also learn more about Chinese culture according to their own interests outside the classroom.Finally,the main content of this paper is summarized,and the shortcomings of this paper are put forward.
