The protective and regulating effects of trait emotional intelligence(EI)have attracted extensive attention in recent years. Therefore,a series of studies have been carried out on the regulating effect of TEI.Research has shown that trait EI can regulate individual attentional bias in stress situations. However, due to the differences in experimental paradigms and experimental tasks, many complex changes have occurred. In addition, the mechanism of attention bias of individuals with different trait EI on threat stimuli is still unclear. This study uses the point detection paradigm combined with three behavioral experiments to explore the above problems through the attention bias of individuals with different trait EI under stress situations. All three experiments use a three-factor mixed experiment design.Experiment 1examines the attentional bias of individuals with different trait EI on emotional words, experiment 2 examines the attentional bias of individuals with different trait EI on emotional faces, and experiment 3 examines the Attentional bias of individuals with different trait EI in emotional scenes. The study yielded the following results:(1)In stressl situations, individuals with high trait EI have attention bias toward positive stimuli, and individuals with low trait EI have attention bias toward threat stimuli;(2)In stress-free situation, individuals with high trait EI do not have attentional bias toward emotional stimuli, while individuals with low trait EI only have attentional bias toward threatening faces and threatening scenes. The conclusion of this study is that trait EI has a regulatory effect and can relieve the influence of stress on attentional bias and that different types of threat stimuli also have an effect on attentional bias.
