| In this thesis,it is focused on belts around northern China through the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.Based on the typological analysis on the equipment of these belts,the studies on the period and region distribution are conducted,followed by the generalization over the rule of evolution and periodical features of the equipment.The thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter One: Introduction.It includes three main parts: to define the time and space framework in the study,to summarize the brief history and research process on belts around northern China through the Eastern Zhou Dynasty and to put forward existing issues,research contents and methods of the study.Chapter Two: Typological analysis.According to the differences of ornaments and functions to tie and knot among belts around northern China through the Eastern Zhou Dynasty,belt implements are distinguished into four sorts,specifically including buckles,plagues,buckles for plagues and belt ornaments,which was typologically analyzed subsequently.Chapter Three: Period distribution.In the study,it is concluded that the belt equipment develops for four periods,relatively corresponding intermediate to late Spring and Autumn Period to transitive period from the Spring and Autumn Period to the Warring States Period,early Warring States Period,mid-Warring States Period to early-intermediate Warring States Period,late-late Warring States Period to the Qin Dynasty.The first two can be also further divided into the early and late stages relatively.It is followed by the generalization over the rule of evolution and periodical features of the equipment.Chapter Four: Region distribution.On the basis of the conclusion in the last chapter,the belt equipment distributes around four defined regions,respectively known as the northern Hebei,the west and east parts around mid-southern Inner Mongolia and Gansu-Ningxia,in line with its regional and identical characteristics and specific period of appearance.Then,it analyzes the differences and relationship among the four regions and interprets the reason.Chapter Five: Discussion on relative issues.The study discusses the alteration of the position of bronze cultural center along the Great Wall in the northern China and the flow of human groups,reflected and inferred by the study on the belt equipment.Chapter six: The final section sums up the main cognition. |
