Among English teaching,writing teaching has been regarded as an important part.It also has an important impact on the all-round development of human beings.Therefore,many writing teaching methods have been used,one of which is Reading-to-write.Many studies on Reading-to-write at home and abroad discuss the writing performance of native speakers or second language learners,and most of the subjects are high-level learners.There is still a relative lack of empirical studies for Chinese senior high school English learners.This study focuses on the following three questions:How does Reading-to-write teaching affect students’ writing accuracy?How does Reading-to-write teaching affect students’ writing complexity?How does Reading-to-write teaching affect students’ writing fluency?In this study,a three-month writing teaching experiment was carried out for students of senior one in a four-star high school in Nanjing.During the period,the experimental group used the method of reading-to-write,and the control group adopted the conventional writing teaching method of separated reading and writing.All subjects were tested for writing before and after the experiment.the experimental class completed the attitude questionnaire after the experiment.Finally,all the experimental data were statistically analyzed by SPSS22.0.The results indicate that: 1)Through the Reading-to-write teaching method,students’ writing accuracy has been improved.2)Students’ English writing comlexity has been improved.3)Students’ writing fluency has been strengthened through the teaching exercise.Thus,we can come to the conclusion that Reading-to-write is suitable for English writing teaching in senior high school.The organic combination of reading and writing can promote students to use the knowledge and language perception extracted from reading,and then improve students’ English thinking ability,autonomous learning ability and text structure analysis ability.At the same time,Reading-to-write can bringstudents a positive writing experience,change their attitude towards English writing,harmonize the atmosphere in the writing class,thus improving the effect of English writing teaching.Teachers need to guide students to understand and practice different reading methods,pay attention to combining writing genre and content,arouse students’ interest in learning,guide students to cultivate individualized reading,so as to promote the accumulation of knowledge and the smooth development of subsequent writing.
