With the continuous research on traditional medicine and increasing requirement for healthcare of human beings, the advantages of traditional medicine represented by Chinese medicine have become increasingly outstanding."Opinions of the State Council of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Deepening the Reform of the Medical and Health System"(China [2009] No.6)also pointed out that it is necessary to actively participate in traditional medicine activities carried out by relevant international organizations,to strengthen the publicity of Chinese medicine knowledge and culture, and to promote its international communication.Internal medicine is the main subject of Chinese medicine with mature theory and remarkable clinical effect, which plays an important role in Chinese medicine. The publicity of Internal Medicine of Chinese Medicine is not only conducive to the popularization and dissemination of knowledge of internal medicine of Chinese medicine, but also to the improvement of people's health. Therefore, the English translation project of Internal Medicine of Chinese Medicine is of theoretical significance and practical value.Chinese medicine, with a long history,is closely related to ancient Chinese philosophy. It is of great difficulty for its spread and communication. The Chinese medicine text belongs to the scientific and technical text.It is standard, professional and logical in language, formal in mode speech and objective in statement. When translating,we must ensure the standardization and accuracy of the translation.Four-character terminologies are commonly used in Chinese medicine texts. For the terms are short but rich in connotations, translators should be good at using different translation methods, such as amplification, interpretation and transliteration to improve the readability and comprehensibility of the translation. The English translation project of Internal Medicine of Chinese Medicine aims to popularize the knowledge of internal medicine for foreign students who are beginning to learn Chinese medicine. Therefore,on the basis of the preservation of the cultural connotations of Chinese medicine, translators should focus on the reading experience of the target audience to the utmost. In addition, emphasis is laid on parataxis in Chinese, while attention is paid to hypotaxis in English.Hence, translators should be skilled in paradigm shift,to guarantee theidiomaticity of the translation. In order to ensure the standardization of the translation and the uniformity of the terminologies in the whole translation project, the author selects Vermeer's skopos theory as the guiding theory. In this translation project, the skopos rule is the general guiding principle, taking into account the coherence rule and fidelity rule to ensure the consistency of the application of translation theory. The author is responsible for the translation of Chapter 2 of Internal Medicine of Chinese Medicine, and based on this translation project, writes the Chinese-English translation report. The translation report is divided into four chapters.Chapter 1 is an introduction to the translation project, including the project background, project source, project significance,a brief introduction to the original text and project requirements.Chapter 2 is pre-translation preparation, including the choice of glossary, parallel text and translation theory, the application of computer-assisted translation tools and the flow chart of translation process.Chapter 3 is the case analysis. The author will discuss the translation examples from the perspective of the application of skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule as well as the translation examples conforming to the affiliation relationship of the three rules, involving the translation of culture-loaded words of Chinese medicine and relevant sentences. The vocabulary aspect mainly includes the translation of Chinese medicine terminologies such as disease name, pathogenesis, pattern, treatment principle and prescription name.Chapter 4 is the summary of the translation project, including the difficulties in the translation practice, solutions to it and shortcomings and disadvantages in the whole translation practice.
