The study traced the historical development of Nigeria-China relations from 1999-2007 with emphases on the political and economic bilateral relations.This study is an exposition of the relationship between Nigeria and China in terms of bilateral trade such as petroleum,electricity,communication,road construction,railway and Road transport system,manufacturing and retail loan finance and general free trade zone.China' s achievements of accelerated progress have improved her modernization,civilization,global acceptability and economic growth which Nigeria,using the opportunity of the bilateral relation,could foster towards reviving and improving her economy.The Sino-Nigerian economic relations have been anchored on mutual understanding and cooperation.China investments has been integral for Nigeria's current economic growth and future prospects.Therefore,as part of the policy reform focus of the Nigerian national economy the bilateral relations between the two nations have been consolidated and given primacy in a bid to give the Nigeria a fresh economic lease,as well as benefitting from China's experience as an emerging economic global power.Chinese investments in Nigeria have contributed to the overall wellbeing of the economy as well as injecting life into other critical spheres such as the employment sector through the booming infrastructural and construction industries.New jobs are constantly being created in the transportation,oil and Gas,power generation,Agriculture and technology transfer sectors.The study examines and recommends policies that will play an important role in harnessing international economic advancement which can expand Nigeria's economic position especially through the indispensable opportunities being availed by China.China historically,has been a key African ally and its guiding principles of mutual cooperation and win-win engagements has made it a vital friend for Nigeria.Thus,the importance of this study could not have been over emphasized as Nigeria's economic development in the 21st century is centered on the various interlinkages provided by key global partners like China.
