Research On Transnational Marriage In Laos And China's Border Areas

Laos is connected to the mountains and rivers of China.In long-term social exchanges and economic life,border residents are of the same ethnic group in terms of blood relationship due to the same geographical background,thus forming a unique transnational marriage pattern.Under China's One Belt And One Road initiative,exchanges and cooperation between Laos and China have been expanding.In recent years,transnational marriage is growing rapidly,but there are many problems that need to be paid attention to and solved.For example,there is no way to protect the lawful rights and interests of border residents,illegal workers and foreign spouses.In the governance of local governments,it is difficult to repatriate,manage public security and conduct social management.All these problems involve the system and capacity of national governance,and the harmony and stability of the relations between sovereign states,that is,national security.This paper takes the cross-border marriages of Laos's Phongsaly and Namtha provinces and Yunnan Province of China as the field investigation object,and presents the reality of the old-age cross-border marriage.Through the marriage squeeze theory and the push-pull theory,the problem and deep roots are identified.Therefore,it proposes countermeasures and suggestions for the management of the border areas of Laos,security and stability,and the creation of an"unbreakable community of old and old destiny"in international relations.By studying the phenomenon of transnational marriage in laos-china border areas,the author finds that many transnational marriage families have not gone through legal transnational marriage procedures,which makes the government's management of transnational marriage groups quite tricky.The legal rights and interests of the object of transnational marriage can hardly be guaranteed,which is not conducive to the stability of people's livelihood.All these problems need to be solved urgently,so that the transnational marriage community can be under unified management,life can be guaranteed,and the friendly relations between the two countries can be consolidated and stabilized.
