The year 2019 marks the 40 th anniversary of the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. In an era of rapid globalization, the interdependence between China and the United States in the fields of politics, economy, and global governance has deepened, but in different fields, the degree of interdependence between China and the United States is very different. At present, the Sino-US trade dispute under the Trump administration has intensified and has become an international hot issue, affecting the future development of the world economy. This paper analyzes the asymmetry of Sino-US interdependence with the Sino-US trade dispute as a case, cites the latest reports and white papers issued by the Chinese government and the US government, and joins the latest cases such as ZTE and Huawei. This paper focuses on the asymmetry of Sino-US interdependence, and uses the theory of interdependence in international relations as the theoretical basis. It mainly uses the theory of asymmetric interdependence to study the asymmetry of Sino-US interdependence. It also introduces the complex interdependence model to analyze the context of Sino-US interdependence. This article combines qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis.I collect a large amount of first-hand information from the official media of China and the US so that we can analyze the changes of the issues and the interdependence between China and the United States more intuitively.Through the comparative analysis,we can easily find the asymmetry of Sino-US interdependence. This paper believes that the development of Sino-US relations is getting closer and closer to the model of complex interdependence, but at the same time, the interdependence between China and the United States has obvious asymmetry. In general,China's dependence on the United States is greater than the United States' dependence on China.Especially in the field of economy and trade,China's interdependence sensitivity and vulnerability are higher than those of the United States. The interdependence of asymmetric vulnerability is an important source of power. At present, the United States has greater power in the Sino-US relations. This paper proposes the following suggestions for reducing the asymmetry interdependence between China and the United States and easing the tension between China and the United States: Firstly,China must continually and vigorously promote the construction of the Belt and Road;Secondly,we should improve the intellectual property protection system to attract foreign investment;Thirdly,we must open wider to the outside world and build new platforms for opening up;Fourthly,we must accelerate our core technology development and independent innovation. In the current intensified trade dispute between China and the United States,we should make greater efforts to enhance our own strength, reduce our dependence on the United States, maintain our important position in the international structure, and promote the development of Sino-US relationship in the direction of mutual benefit and win-win results.
