At present, the social structure of rural areas has undergone tremendous changes. The pattern of interests among villagers is rapidly adjusting. The disputes between villagers have also shown dramatic, complex and pluralistic, even superimposed phenomena, which constitute a huge social order in rural areas. The hidden dangers,so it is urgent to explore the logic behind the choice of dispute resolution methods and seek structural reasons that affect the rural dispute resolution mechanism. There is no doubt that social capital is one of the many factors that influence the choice of villagers' dispute resolution methods.Social capital not only affects the rational choice of villagers' dispute resolution methods, but also reflects the structural basis of rural dispute resolution mechanisms. The article manipulates the concept of social capital into two levels, individual and collective.Combined with the results of questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews,it examines in detail the impact of social capital on villagers' dispute resolution and its operational mechanism. The study found that at the level of individual social capital, the size of the number of family members in the village has a significant correlation with the choice of villagers. The number of people in the village has a significant correlation with the choice of private individuals. In the network occupation, there is a person in charge of understanding the party organization. There is a significant correlation between the choice of forbearance and privacy, the knowledge of the lawyers' choice of the relationship network to resolve disputes, and the knowledge of lawyers have a significant correlation with the villagers' choice of court litigation;on the level of collective social capital, reciprocity Norms and social trust have a positive impact on the choice of private relief by villagers.Reciprocal norms and network participation have a significant negativeimpact on the choice of public assistance. In the rural dispute resolution field, the choice of villagers' dispute resolution methods is the result of interaction between individual actions and social structures. The reason why individual social capital is embedded in the villagers' dispute resolution method is because the network scale represents the storage capacity of the villagers who own the network resources. The network occupation composition and network difference represent the proximity and richness of the villagers in legal and power resources. The reason why collective social capital can influence the choice of villagers' dispute resolution methods is because the reciprocal norms, social trust and network participation among villagers can cause order pressure on the action choices of villagers. For this reason, rural dispute governance needs to pay attention to social capital factors.First, develop a mobilization-type dispute mediation system to achieve multi-agent participation and resolve disputes.Secondly, guide villagers to rationally use social capital to improve the dispute resolution efficiency of social capital. Finally, cultivate rural collective social capital and create a good environment for dispute management.
