The Study On The Social Integration Of Muslim Immigrants In Europe

No matter from the perspective of large population size or unique culture,religion and language,Muslim immigrants have become an indispensable existence in European countries.In order to promote the integration of Muslim immigrants and mainstream society,European countries have taken a series of measures in politics,religion,law and other aspects.However,in recent years,with the frequent occurrence of extreme terrorist events such as the Madrid train bombings,the London bombings and other extreme terrorist events in Western European countries,as well as constant conflict and controversy between Islamic culture and Western culture,and the outbreak of refugee crisis.The social integration of Muslim communities has been widely questioned and has become an important problem to be solved in European countries.This paper uses methods of documentary research to explore the historical process of Muslim immigrants to Europe,the main integration modes of European countries and the social integration of European Muslim immigrants in the economic,cultural,social relations and political fields.Generally speaking,the process of social integration of Muslim communities in Europe is relatively slow,and the level of integration is low.In the economic field,Muslim immigrants in Europe are faced with employment discrimination,low professional status and low income.In cultural field,on the one hand,The conflict and controversy between Islamic culture and Western culture are constantly occurring,On the other hand,there are tensions and conflicts between religious identity and citizenship of Muslim immigrants.In the field of social relations,most of Muslim immigrants have established high homogeneity of social relations network,and it is difficult to establish intimate and trusting emotional ties with the local people.At the same time,they also show obvious inner group preference in the establishment of marriage relations.In the field of politics,Muslim immigrants are faced with the problems of lack of political participation.However,various types of religious organizations and social groups provide a supplementary way for the interest expression and political participation.Based on this situation,this paper puts forward some thoughts on promoting the social integration of Muslim communities in Europe from five perspectives of employment discrimination,education,culture and social relations.First,legislation and supervision on employment discrimination should be strengthened,enterprises can adopt fair methods;second,improve the education level of Muslim immigrants in Europe,and attach importance to education and employment information guidance;third,overcome the tendency of cultural centralism and strengthen intercultural dialogue;fourth,reduce housing discrimination and promote ethnic exchange;fifth,implement policies of naturalization more flexibly and increase the enthusiasm of political participation.
