With the continuous development of China's economy and society,a large number of rural labor force leave hometown to work and start businesses in big cities with better prospects for development in order to improve the family economic situation and seek better development.However,due to the limitation of practical conditions,many people choose to leave their minor children in rural areas to be supervised and cared by others,which leads to the emergence of a large number of left behind children in rural areas.Rural left-behind children,like other children of the same age,are in an important period of physiological and psychological growth and development,but due to the lack of parents during the growth process,the incomplete family education and the imbalance of school education resources,and other external factors,It often causes left-behind children to have deviations and deficiencies in self-awareness,self-identity and self-management.This research starts from the left-behind children and studies on the promotion of self-cognitive ability of them.The researcher adopts the methods of questionnaire,interview,literature research and observation to understand the difficulties and existing needs of then in self-cognition.Under the guidance of cognitive behavior theory and advantage perspective theory,the researcher designs and implements the intervention program from the aspects of left behind children's study,body,companion,emotion and family.Finally,the effectiveness of group intervention was evaluated through the comparison of pre-test and posttest data,group interview and the observation of the researcher.The research shows that the intervention of social work has significant effects on improving the self-cognition of left-behind children and basically achieved the goal of group activities.Finally,the researcher reflected on this study,summarized the deficiencies of this study,and put forward relevant Suggestions,hoping to accumulate experience for future research on self-cognition of rural left-behind children.
