1912-1928 was an important period for the development of overseas Chinese nationalism.It was based on national identity,national equality and national anxiety consciousness.This article pays attention to the overseas Chinese nationalism in this period,and utilizes the relevant reports of Chinese newspapers to try to explain the influence and characteristics of the anti-Japanese movement of overseas Chinese under the influence of nationalism.Twenty-one Demands,The May 30 th Massacre,and the Jinan Massacre have occurred one after another,American overseas Chinese have paid attention to the national security after propaganda led by domestic elites and the national government.At the same time,overseas Chinese groups and overseas students have aroused the nationalist sentiments of overseas Chinese through overseas Chinese newspapers.Under the growing nationalism,American Chinese have initiated a large scale of anti-Japanese movement,including the establishment of national salvation organizations,the donations,the boycott of Japanese goods and the initiation of national diplomacy.The development of the anti-Japanese movement of overseas Chinese not only fight the Japanese economy,but it also won the sympathy of international public opinion and even changed the attitude of the American countries to China to some extent.Although the anti-Japanese movement of overseas Chinese in the Americans in this period was not as high as that during the Anti-Japanese War,it was also an important part of the overseas Chinese anti-Japanese national salvation movement and the development of American Chinese patriotic and anti-Japanese movement since the late Qing Dynasty;Besides,it also provides organized and ideological preparations for the arrival of the comprehensive anti-Japanese movement after the Mukden Incident,especially after the Marco Polo Bridge Incident.
