The Relationship Between Social Support And Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Of The Police: An Analysis Of The In Mediating Role Of Coping Styles

Post-traumatic stress disorder of the police refers to the psychological imbalance of the police in the face of a traumatic event,resulting in a longer-lasting mental disorder.This creates the grievous harm to the physical and mental health of the police,meanwhile it has a negative impact on the work and life of the police.In order to reduce the incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder in police,using coping style as the intermediary variable in this study to inquire into the relevance between social support and post-traumatic stress disorder of the police,using social support scale,coping style questionnaire,and post-traumatic stress disorder scale as a research tool,selecting 375 police officers who participated in counter-terrorism in H area of Xinjiang as a sample,and SPSS23.0 statistical software and Amos22.0 statistical software were used to process the survey data,the following conclusions were drawn:1.Different groups of the police have different in the social support,coping styles,and post-traumatic stress disorder.(1)The social support of the police is significantly different in different genders,ages,police ages,marital status and ranks.(2)The immature coping style of the police is not different in different genders,ages,police ages,marital status and ranks;the mature coping styles are significantly different in different genders,ages,police ages,marital status and ranks.(3)Post-traumatic stress disorder of the police is not significantly different in different genders,ages,police ages,marital status and ranks.2.Social support of the police is one of the antecedent variables of coping style,and social support has a significant impact on coping style.The more social support the police have,the more mature coping styles they will adopt.Conversely,the more immature coping styles will be adopted by police.3.Post-traumatic stress disorder of the police is one of the outcome variables of social support.Social support has a significant negative impact on post-traumatic stress disorder.The better social support of the police,the lower the chance of developing post-traumatic stress disorder.4.Coping styles play a mediate role between social support and post-traumatic stress disorder of the police: Mature coping styles play a partially mediate role between social support and post-traumatic stress disorder,immature coping styles play a partially mediate role between social support and post-traumatic stress disorder,Based on the above conclusions,this article puts forward relevant suggestions for improving the social support network of the police,strengthen coping ability training and so on.
