This paper empirically examines the impact of cross-cultural adaptation of overseas student on their academic performance.The research was carried out by sending questionnaires to students by mail from different universities.Every effort was made to include as many students as possible.In total,111 overseas students participated in the survey,data were analyzed using descriptive statistic,variables analysis,correlations analysis and regression analysis.The results revealed that respondents seemed to have a relatively positive experience.In terms of social adaptation,overseas students regarded themselves as having "slight to moderate difficulty" in coping with the new culture,for mind adaptation,most of the students did not have problems,also,these results are consistent with previous research in the related field.The study revealed a significant positive correlation between cross-cultural adaptation and academic performance of overseas students.Hence this study recommended that students must be serious and have a good level of the local language to help them communicate and achieve their academic goals.They need to bear in mind that overseas study offers the most valuable opportunities to develop their intercultural communicative competence,which is not only a valuable personal attribute in terms of personal grown but also could greatly boost their employability in a modern firms in this even increasingly globalized world.
