The Australian Open(Australia)has a long history and is one of the Grand Slam tournaments. It attracts many top athletes and its technical and tactical level is second to none in the world tennis tournament. Therefore,by studying the skills and tactics of the Australian Open women's athletes and summing up the technical and tactical features,it can provide reference for the Chinese women athletes as well as young people's technical and tactical training. In this paper,we use the literature data method, mathematical statistics method, video analysis method, comparative analysis method and other methods to study the 2017 Australian Open women's singles top semi-strong athletes to observe the players' skills and tactical styles in different stages of the competition.Statistical analysis of a number of data during the competition.Research indicates:(1)the service stageSerena Williams averaged the number of ACE balls per game and the number of double-fault shots was one of the important reasons why she won the Australian Open.Lucic and Vandeweghe have similar numbers of ACE balls and double missed balls, and they have low success rates. They do not show the higher ability of the two servings and there is still a big gap between them.Serena Williams served with high quality, fast, sturdy and steady. Her average per game scoring rate was 82.9%;Williams averaged 63.6% per game. She ranked first in the semi-finals and referred to her serve. The total number indicates that her offensive performance is weak, and there is a lack of one-time scoring rate;in the second-round scoring rate,Vandeweghehas a greater advantage. In the first and second serve of the four athletes in the first and second quarters, the internal corner appeared higher frequency, the field was 50.5%,followed by the external angle, the field was 37.6%.It is worth noting that they have been caught more than 10% in the second round. The player'schoice in the serve phase is the internal corner, the external corner, and the middle road.(2)the receiving stageSerena Williams had a small difference in scoring rates in the first and second rounds, and a high percentage of points was 57.8%,indicating that Serena Williams' s ability to serve was outstanding. The other four players in the semifinal team scored relatively low on the first match and scored higher on second consecutive games. When the four athletes received the serve, the stroke technique was used more often, which was 54.8%.When the second round is played, the threat of the four players serving is less than one, this is to enable the tennis to successfully enter the serve area and avoid double errors. Therefore, athletes have chosen to use a more stable ball striking technique when taking second shots.Their use rate is as high as 84.2%.Lucic had a small number of breaks, but the success rate was high, and the average score of 63.6% per game was the key to Lucic's advancement into the top four.Vandeweghe has more chances to break, but the success rate of breaking is only 19.2%.This shows that Vandeweghe's ability to break the ball to take advantage of the opportunity is still a certain gap compared to the other three players.(3)the Stalemate StageIn the stagnation stage, forward and backhand pumping is the most common and basic technique, and the backhand pumping technique used frequency is 41.2% higher than the forehand hitting technique, which is39.2%.This shows that most of the top four athletes choose to attack each other's disadvantage position(Backhand position). In the staging stage, the top four athletes use the slash line as the first choice for the hitting route.Among them,Serena Williams has the strongest line change ability. The number of unforced errors of four players is proportional to the number of winning balls, indicating that they are also trying to createwinning points while also taking the risk of unforced errors.Serena Williams averages 27.9 wins per game, which is the highest among the four players.Vandeweghe has the highest number of unforced errors, averaging 35 games per game. This is one of the important reasons why she failed to reach the final.Lucic is less unsuccessful, but her attack is relatively poor, suggesting that she needs to increase her offensive ability in order to win the game.Serena Williams is the highest scorer in the semi-finals of the semi-final player, which is as high as 85.7%.Lucic had the fewest number of online games, averaging 3.5 games. It can be seen that she is still too passively hitting the ball at the baseline. There are fewer tactical changes and the Internet is relatively poor.It is difficult to occupy an active position during the game.
