Possessing professional knowledge is the primary condition of geographical teachers in high school and the essential requirement for the specialization of teaching profession.Constructing and enriching professional knowledge of geographical teachers in high school are important to improve the efficiency of teaching,promote the professional growth of teachers' and increase the overall quality of education.Meanwhile,due to the lack of teachers' professional knowledge,I found that I could not teach well as I expected.Therefore,I chose the narrative research about the growth of geographical teachers' professional knowledge in high school as the direction of research.This article sorted out professional knowledge of the domestic and foreign teachers and the process of professional growth by the literature method.The second chapter of teachers' professional standards(Trial)in middle school which has been promulgated by the Ministry of Education at the end of 2011 includes basic requirements of professional knowledge.According to this professional standard and the subject characteristics of geographical teaching,I analyzed the structure of professional knowledge and requirements of the content.Y teacher in Yong Deng L high school was taken as the object of this research.Through narrative researching and text analyzing,such as interviewing,accessing to the teaching plan and the research topic,this research knew the construction and developmental status of her educational knowledge,geographical knowledge,knowledge of geographical teaching and general knowledge.Meanwhile,this research also explored the growth of Y teacher's professional knowledge in practice and found successful experience and existing problems in the growth of professional knowledge.These researches all above were aimed to look for the channel of promoting development of geographical teacher's professional knowledge.Through narrative research on the development of Y teacher's professional knowledge,this research found,first of all,Y teacher could recognize that professional knowledge was an important factor of affecting the geographical teacher's professional growth and could understand the most of professional knowledge of professional standards,especially the geographical knowledge.Then,she could study constantly to enrich professional knowledge which she didn't understand.The professional knowledge was in accordance with the view of knowledge in the newreform of curriculum.However,there were also many problems about the growth of professional knowledge.Firstly,Y teacher couldn't investigate in-depth and convert the educational knowledge to her structured knowledge.What's more,her theoretical knowledge of education wasn't enough.Secondly,Y teacher did not dig deeply into the knowledge of geographical material and could not update teaching contents in time.Thirdly,in the teaching knowledge of geography,Y teacher ignored the coordination of intelligence and non intelligence factors and learning rules when students learned geography in high school.Y teacher didn't also understand well professional standards of geographical teaching knowledge of in the new background.Finally,the lack of motivation of professional study let the research of Y teacher's professional knowledge stagnate in a low level.So the geographical teachers' professional level couldn't be improved.Based on these results of research,this research found ways of promoting the growth of the professional knowledge of geographical teachers in high school and hoped to promote better the professional development of geographical teachers in our country.
